Discussion: Officials: Army Vet Targeting White Supremacists Wanted Revenge For NZ Attacks

They added cows and their methane to the band? That sounds cool.

Although horrific this attack was averted. According to Donnie’s World ‘intent’ is not enough to warrant it being a ‘crime’. So…will this blow the synagogue shooting off the front page while the GOPpers rush to blame Ilhan Omar for all the ills in the world?

So, he’s totally exonerated I guess.

Yeah, all good points, and I am glad that he won’t be blowing up nail bombs anywhere soon. But your post brings out the very thing that disturbs me - that the person has to be brought to the brink of actually doing something artificially in order to protect the rest of us. Being disturbed by something is not condemning it. But sometimes it feels like thought crimes and blustering are getting nurtured into something scarier just to get the win.Would we all be on board if a potential rapist was supplied with violent pornography and encouragement to kill and rape some specific woman in order to get him to do something overt that he could be arrested for?

Anyway, sometimes things, means and methods disturb me because it feels like something is missing from our ability to deal with these kind of sick people among us. But I don’t have any better ideas that wouldn’t violate his civil rights.

I knew about the rally. The location is about 8 miles from my home. Long Beach is a progressive city, it doesn’t surprise me that there were lots of counter protesters. Will life ever be normal again?

Good. Any and all terrorists need to be stopped.

Those are guns. They don’t kill people.

Inert bombs are a gateway device to using planeloads of fuel and hostages.

Also, white.

Wondering which terrorist group was he providing “material support” to? Or was he led to believe undercover agents belonged to a particular terrorist organization?

Yeah but what if he was just frustrated?

My issue is when the undercover agent provides so much help that it’s basically entrapment.

I remember a case several years ago where the “suspect” not only had to be given the money to buy the bomb materials, they had to be driven to the store because they had no car.

At what point does detecting potential terrorists turn into creating them?

I was wondering if l was the only person who noticed this.

It is interesting how Law Enforcement can’t ever find the neo-nazi white supremacist attackers before they kill, no matter how many public pronouncements they make.

And how often just after a neo-nazi murder, they make a big show of arresting some mentally vulnerable individual they’ve had a professional informant stringing along for months and years. And then for some suspiciously convenient reason, he “said the magic words” that crossed the line and necessitated arrest, with full media coverage…

One of my favorite clips of all time.

I was about 8 when I first heard that, and didn’t get the joke for a really long time. I thought “it seems like he wanted to avoid the draft, so why did he go in and make himself sound like the perfect person for the Army?”

this from Raw Story…
“Domingo was arrested Friday after receiving what he thought was a live bomb packed with nails that was delivered by an undercover agent.”

were you using a government contractor? Maybe that was the problem

So will this guy get released like the Coast Guard guy who amassed an arsenal and had a hit list? Rhetorical question. Different rules apply for white men.

Do you really think this guy WASN’T being surveilled full time, at least from the time he made it clear he was targeting neo-Nazis? Sadly, I think we have too many conflicted law enforcement personnel.
