I’ll admit it has been awhile since I did firearm safety in the Boy Scouts, but I’m pretty sure that one of the top five safety rules was to be aware of one’s surroundings.
Witnesses could hear the officers giving Sanchez commands, but the officers didn’t hear the witnesses yelling that Sanchez couldn’t hear them, Mathews said. When he was about 15 feet (4.5 meters) away from the officers, they opened fire — Lindsey with his Taser and Barnes with his gun, apparently simultaneously, Mathews said.
So if one had Taser why shoot gun? Or vv? WTF?

As @thepsyker said some one was not being aware of their surroundings. Also this is the third time a suspect/person had to face one officer with a gun and another officer with a taser. So do the OKC Cops not practice/train as a team?
When asked why Barnes used a gun instead of a Taser, Mathews said he
didn’t knowwas brown.
Fixed.
Be sure to bring this up the next time a prosecutor raises the superior observation skills of LEOs vs civilians.
Another cop that was either looking for any excuse to shoot someone or was scared. I swear they almost need to make it a law for the cops that they can’t shoot until shot at.
So that makes murdering him ok.
(shakes head)
Of course they did not , their trigger fingers were too itchy .
