Discussion: Officers In Riot Gear Arrest Dozens At Black Lives Matter Protests Over Weekend

Yea as a white person that believes and understands what black live matters is trying to do, blocking interstates just seem like it’s pushing the envelope too much and is going to end up with more black lives being lost and nothing being done or worse driving things backwards.

This is what massive frustration leads to. BLM has way more than enough right to be protesting nationwide and continuously.
It seems that the wrongful deaths of black citizens have only increased or become more egregious. This means that the efforts to make the public aware must be increased.

Notice that when cops were just randomly shooting and killing blacks without repercussion, that there wasn’t much of a story, but now, the targets of the random killings decide to protest and arrests are coming in flocks.

A little justice would go a long ways and letting cops go free that commit murder isn’t justice by any stretch of the imagination.

Address the root cause.

Police are committing cold-blooded murder against law-abiding African-American citizens. When governors address that, the “dangerous” blocked highways issue will be solved.

One of the minor tragedies of this weekend is the city handling the protests best was the city hit with the sniper. Louisiana is using the same tried and true tactics pioneered in Mississippi back in the late 50s, tactics that fanned the flames in Ferguson just two years ago. They learned nothing. Minnesota isn’t doing much better.

Why did they confiscate guns? Where is the NRA on this?

Every blocked interstate (like blocking the Dan Ryan in Chicago last week to protest stuff in Minneapolis) results in hundreds if not thousands of pissed off alienated persons. Some of these might have been sympathetic. If you miss your plane due to some fucking morons in BLM, you are going to be very angry, and totally unsympathetic. And dropping chunks of concrete on cops is not a good move either, nor is throwing explosive devices, both of which happened in Minneapolis.

You have a valid point, and were I delayed at the airport, I’d probably be among the ticked off.

That said, it’s the duty of military personnel to disobey an immoral order, even if that disobedience causes harm to comrades.

Similarly, there are circumstances under which it is the duty of people to oppose tyranny. One of those times occurred in 1775, which resulted in 10,000 deaths on both sides, mostly American.

The lesson of history is to respond to injustice quickly and effectively before things get out of hand. Nations, even global empires like Great Britain, ignore the warning signs at their own peril.

I submit there’s warning signs.

Fine. However, blocking highways has exactly nothing to do with justice, immoral orders, or anything else. It just pisses people off. Every time BLM does it, they lose more people. They are a bunch of morons.
