Discussion: Officer Who Told Protestors 'I Will F*cking Kill You' Forced To Resign

Discussion for article #227034

…Albers’ comments were caused by fear and noted that there were “a whole bunch of what you’d call citizen journalists, who were sitting with cameras recording, waiting for something stupid to happen, which they got. They won on this one.

It’s troubling to me they see this as some kind of competition, as if maybe they’ll “win” the next time? That’s really fucked up.

In my book, if you’ve gotten a rifle pointed at you for citizen journalism?

No matter who ‘wins’, everyone’s lost.

Exactly.

“And I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”

No, you won on this one. The officer was allowed to resign instead of being prosecuted for his crimes. You will seal the employment file and agree to only making a reference statement the employee was employed from X date to his resignation.

There you have it in the war of they versus us.

Yep. Now he doesn’t have to bring up any past firings on his QT job application.

This is the basic issue/problem with these overzealous police actions.

The police see average Americans as a group to be controlled—usually by the use of force or the creation of fear.

The average citizen sees the police as an enemy, often because that’s how the police present themselves.

What happened to the idea of “protect and serve?”
It seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird—and that harms the police and average citizens by setting the stage for multiple repeat performances of Ferguson’s problems.

This is easy to see in the almost daily reports of yet another young black male being shot, tasered, or choked to death by police who seem unaware that there are distinct limits to their power.

And this doesn’t even address the overt militarization of the police, which makes the whole megilla that much worse.

Yes, the very way problematic but favored employees move from one venue to another.

“he saw one of the protesters carrying a gun”…

what’s the problem with this? that should make him a patriot, no?

I think Albers would make a great Walmart greeter…“welcome to Walmart…go fuck yourselves…”

Yeah, I remember when it was “protect and serve” and the fat cops would chase us on summer nights when we were teens. But I can tell you from experience when you put on military gear and leave the compound you view the world differently. Everything out of the “ordinary” is a perceived threat that must be aggressively dealt with. And this “survival” outlook is becoming the new norm with policing across the nation.

Yet the cop that actually did kill someone will be back on the job on in a few months.

Jiminez sounds disappointed. He doesn’t see that Albers is the one who did something stupid and caused plenty of fear in the crowd when he waved his gun around and threatened them.

It’s good Albers is done. He needs to find a different line of work.

Is Jiminez Spanish for “I’ll apologize and excuse the most asinine and psychotic behavior of any police officer”?

I think it’s Spanish for " Zimmerman"

Why does “Chief” Aaron Jiminez HATE accountability, freedom of information, and citizen participation in American democracy?

There are so many of these killings that the tasings and beatings don’t even make the news unless someone slips into a coma and dies.

LA cops beat Omar Abrego to death. video

Then there was the -need I say- black man who picked up a BB gun at Walmart, which terrified a white customer who called police and the police, naturally, put him down. The resulting gunfire unfortunately frightened another white woman who died of a heart attack while running away from the police shooting.

Then there is Ezell Ford. Another unarmed black male. His family says he was shot 3 times in the back while cops had him lying on ground. LA police are not releasing the autopsy results.

That Wendy’s massacre which got the Cops employee killed is another marvelous bit of police work. Yes, the black man was using a fake gun to rob Wendy’s but that didn’t justify police spraying 30 plus bullets into the restaurant.

Yeah, exactly. I read it as “wait 'til we catch you fuckers when there’s no cameras around…paybacks are a bitch…”
