Discussion for article #242071
They(GOP Committee) are not used to it as Fox hosts do this for them all day. They are looking into Hannity and others at Fox to run the house for them. That will formalize their existing relationship.
He pretty much said it all right there.
FARCE.
The whole thing is really just an embarrassment for the Republican members of the committee. All I wonder when they ask their questions is whether they have ever had jobs in leadership positions before becoming members of the House. I mean they seem to think it was Clinton’s job to be sitting in her office emailing about Benghazi all day and handling every single task and issue herself - which says so much more about their experience than it does about Clinton’s. Embarrassing.
“…or the point of which isn’t even clear (why did Sid Blumenthal send you so many emails?)”
Just check Faux News if you’re wondering what narrative they’re trying to establish. This is all about the GOP/Teatrolls on the committee having decided that the narrative in their “findings” will include batshit nonsense about Clinton paying more attention to Blumenthal than to Stevens and that Blumenthal was her main source of information…not the miiltary, advisors, intelligence community et al…about the goings-on in Libya.
Oh, they have something - another tool to agitate their base. There’s a reason why they continue to pull stunts like this - they work.
someone needs to go thru the inbox of gowdy … cause you know it’s loaded with batshit rantings and allegations. and then hold a hearing on why he’s corresponding with such lunatics.
Glenn Beck for speaker?
I must say I am impressed with HRC. I do understand what a brilliant woman she is but her skills to run this country are on full display with her appearance for this committee. I believe she will come out the best on this
“You can always tell how serious an investigative committee is,” O’Donnell said. “If the members are asking the questions, it’s not serious.”
This is what a political investigation is. Trey Gowdy has to let the committee members, especially the Republican ones, get face time in front of the TV cameras so they can prove to their constituents that they were going after the loathed Hillary Clinton.
Edited to distinguish the quote I am referring to.
Seriously, that for me is the takeaway. If I were a Republican, I’d be thinking about taking up Walker’s recommendation to quit.
So here’s one side of what we’re seeing: every time Republicans engineer a direct clash between the crazy shit Republicans make up and tell each other about Democrats and objective reality, the outcome is a humiliating fiasco. Remember this, for example?
And that repetitive collapse into humiliating fiasco is what makes the Sensible Centrist Broderite Cocktail Weenie Sucking dicks like, say, CNN or Ron Fournier, who insist on “balance” above all, absolute blithering idiots.
But the other reality is that these periodic interpenetrations of objective reality into the Repbublican Bullshit Bubble never, ever cause any Republican or even any independent to change their minds.
I very much enjoyed that delicious smackdown session. Odd Obama was never invited back.
In a way I don’t blame the Repubs for their obsession. Benghazi just looked like the Debacle of Their Dreams, it was so full of rich creamy debacle-y goodness, it just had to be the debacle that discredited Hillzilla, and it kept seeming like it was just almost that, so they kept chanting the word “Benghazi” at every opportunity, and it was just so damn almost-there in their minds that as the months and years passed they could never accept that it wasn’t going to work out after all.
I think the problem the GOP is having is the same problem you have when you live in a building that will fall down if you cease to believe in it:
Our side is kicking ass in exposing the GOPers and HRC is absolutely prepared, brilliant and her sincerity is on display
I remember that day as clear as anything. I was home sick and lying in bed watching and I kept calling all mt friends to be sure to watch or catch it later because there he was a newly elected president dealing with so much shit and he went there and without notes answered all questions and debate them unbelievable.
I love my President
Gowdy was a weak chairman - - basically because he is a bit of a dim bulb but with a deep desire to get into an attention generating fight.
And yet, despite the fact that he crushed one set of Republican nuts after another, off the cuff and without notes, they held on to that “teleprompter” slur for another year and a half to two years.
