Always the voice of reason. Always the voice of dedication. Always the voice of kindness and love. Thank you, President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Scalia was hateful and vile and I’m glad to see him go. OTOH, Nancy was just living out her days as a crippled, feeble old lady probably waiting and hoping to die soon. Her death starts nothing. Mrs. Obama was the picture of graciousness here, ca 2014, people here could take a lesson from her example.

I’m waiting for the FOX News headline later…

“Obama’s diss great former First Lady”.

One of Barack Obama’s fiercest supporter was Ron Reagan, Jr. It would be a warm and wonderful acknowledgement if President Obama can attend her funeral.

Progressives should petition Whitehouse.gov and encourage the first family to back Patti and Ron, Jr. in their period of grief. Imagine the crazy republican and their clown car’s reaction.

She seems to have embraced the President and First Lady in their few interactions. RIP Nancy Davis Reagan.

Now that is a man whose mama raised him right. I can’t remember what the occasion was, but Nancy was at the Whitehouse early in Obama’s presidency for some sort of signing and when Obama signed whatever it was, Nancy said, “I see you’re a lefty.” She meant left handed of course, but Obama laughed and gave that great big kind smile he has. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Gross. If you want to be the kind of person who lacks graciousness and is filled with mean spiritedness, you probably ought to be a Republican. They have plenty of room for people of your ilk. It can be argued that Nancy Reagan did a lot of things that I disagree with (Just Say No for starters) and were probably hurtful to our nation, but on this, the day of her death, it would be advisable to show you have some class, if indeed you have any.

Obviously you were brought up by wolves and never had a feeble 90- year old mother die from heart failure at your home.

It was the stem cell research bill she was very in favor of.

I never voted for her knuckleheaded husband, and her astrology stuff was an indication she was pretty nutty and blind in some fundamental ways.

Trying to turn her into a war criminal or mass murderer is stupid. There are others far more deserving of our scorn in 2016, like that evil asshole with somebody else’s heart beating away inside his chest.

I’m thankful Obama has the grace and common sense to not follow your example.

I was going to say the same.

But what if Donald Trump also attended the funeral and has his security detail escort the President out of the proceedings while he hectors him on his way out?

Agree, and notice how he innocuously co-opts Mrs. Reagan politically:

“…Later, in her long goodbye with President Reagan, she became a voice on behalf of millions of families going through the depleting, aching reality of Alzheimer’s, and took on a new role, as advocate, on behalf of treatments that hold the potential and the promise to improve and save lives.”

In the context of a very warm, moving tribute and consoling remembrance of the former First Lady, he discretely makes common cause with her support of stem-cell treatments, for which she broke with the George W Bush administration and sided with the Obama administration.

Again, reframe the debate.

Nah, if he’d been raised by wolves he’d be better socialized.
