Discussion for article #224894

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant and thanks Tom for actually posting the full quote.

Isn’t this standard operating procedure with the GOP? They’re always mad as hell and predicting doom over something the president either didn’t say or didn’t do. President Obama says, “I love Austin” and Republicans immediately claim he hates Dallas.

Morons. Never let the facts get in the way of a good outrage fit.

Of course. They lose it over hundreds of insane, demonstratively untrue things all the time. They literally invent things to be outraged over.

The GOP/teahadist base is borderline clinically insane.

Do Republicans really think these chicken shit attacks actually resonate with the American public?

As I and other have said many times, if President Obama cured cancer, the GOP would lose their shit and claim Obama hates oncologists.

And after a few months of that, then it will devolve into a conspiracy theory that he simply wants to keep people alive so they could mooch off “the government teat” as part of some secret plan to destroy America.

Yes. And it resonates with them and their base.

Dana Perino: “I’m still trying to get my head around this statement by potus.”

Dana, you could never get your head around a pea, so don’t try with this.

Never, ever underestimate fear of a black President.

Republicans devote their whole lives to stabbing at strawmen and tilting at windmills. So it goes…

If the RNC convention were next month they’d more than likely use it as a theme like the willfully misquoted ‘You didn’t build that’ meme.

It apparently does with a certain loud, angry, intellectually challenged constituency that they’ve been relying on for decades.

To paraphrase Justice Alito in Hobby-Lobby, it doesn’t matter that Obama didn’t actually say it, as long as the pundits believe that he said it

He said “I’m not interested in photo-ops;” and they claim he said “I don’t do photo-ops;”

Wow, you really caught them in a big lie that time. What a whopper. The headline should be 10 times as big and in flashing red and purple. “Biggest lie ever told!!!”

Speaks volumes about the sad state of journalists and journalism education today. Facts don’t seem to matter anymore.

Let me see if I understand this. The GOP and right wing media are demanding a photo op at the border?

Yes.

The good news is that cable ‘news’ lost 20% of it’s audience two years in a row. I wonder why?

Because it resonates with them and their base (the real Americans) they think that somehow means it resonates with the rest of America. It actually makes them look small, petty, and desperate to find anything over which to attack him. That’s why fewer and fewer people are listening to the right. They have no proposals, no policy prescriptions, nothing but bitter sniping at the president.

Let them keep getting hysterical over non-issues. It just makes them look foolish. No one cares.
