It’s more clear than ever, the contrast of the ā€œkids tableā€ Republicans and the grown up that is President Obama.

It is a good start and the whole world is working together. Except of course Republicans who will joyfully make their grandchildren suffer rather than cooperate with PBO.

ā€œWe can expect the administration to cite this ā€˜agreement’ as their excuse for establishing emission targets for every sector of the U.S. economyā€ā€¦ said Sen. James Inhofe, Luddite-Okla., chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Expect the House to pile on too by refusing to fund any of it.

The reduction in carbon will come about through increased efficiency and replacement of obsolete industries. Some of us see this as essential and also as a great opportunity.

The utter insanity of the GOP opposition to reasonable efforts to confront the fact of human caused climate change is one of numerous, yet most catastrophic for humanity, reasons the ā€œconservativeā€ movement and the GOP need to be destroyed and kept from holding any positions of power.

John Kerry’s on a roll this year! Next up, a solution in Syria?

Here is the biggest problem, this ā€˜agreement’, unless I am missing something, is subject to the exact same failure as Kyoto, which is that it is considered a treaty, which means Congress has to ratify it. For those of you who remember Kyoto, VP Gore flew to Kyoto to personally sign the treaty, but because the R-controlled congress at the time refused to ratify it, the United States never was an actual party to the Kyoto Accord. Same situation here. There is no way that the R-controlled Congress ratifies this treaty. So Obama is left with the same executive actions he has already been doing, and we will, again, violate our agreement in front of the entire world. Don’t get me wrong, the EOs that the president has been issuing are great, but they simply will not make the grade with respect to what we need to do per this or any other international agreement on climate change. He needs Congress. But they would rather poop in their own hand and through it at the wall, than help him.
