Sanity is underrated.
I don’t think any president ever comes in saying to himself I want to figure out how to make people angry or alienate half the country.
I didn’t think any president ever came in making people angry or alienating half the country. But, here we are…
Obama answered that, “it was up to Trump “to set up a team that he thinks will serve him well and reflect his policies.”
Yes, and it appears that he’s doing just that. Copies of Mein Kampf are no doubt being printed around the clock.
BTW - I think there needs to be a Trump Exception to Godwin’s Law.
Bannon: Kenyan needs to go back.
I will say what the polite, educated Black man can’t.
MOFO racist honky!
I can’t blame him. Scolding Trump for Bannon’s new role would make Pres. Obama’s uncompensated side job of administering remedial education to the President-Elect rather awkward.
“I think he is sincere in wanting to be a successful president and moving this country forward."
Like John Oliver said last night. Oliver is happy “to give him the chance. But like when you find out a wombat is flying the plane, you kinda know you are headed for a disaster, but your only choice is to give batty a chance.”
A brave face, indeed. I just can’t shake the feelings of impending doom. The contrast is just too great. The vision is of the Republicans handing Trump his fat ass and continuing like nothing happened.
…and btw, that would be a best case scenario.
I dunno. Any investigation laying the groundwork for a Trump impeachment would likely expose far more cravenness and cowardice in the inner workings of the GOP than they’d find comfortable. I’d love to see the RNC emails where they admit “yeah, the whole Birther thing is unbelievably low but the rubes are buying it so let Trump keep going”…but Russia doesn’t want to help much with that. Odd.
Meanwhile, while the unprepared Trump regime is out frantically looking for 4000 new employees for his version of The Swamp, perhaps a Russian mole or two will be able to sneak in and pass muster?
I hope he fails, and the sooner the better.
Americans can manage themselves.
“I did say to him, as I’ve said publicly that because of the nature of the campaigns, and the bitterness and ferocity of the campaigns, it’s really important to try to send signals of unity and reach out to minority groups or women or others that were concerned about the tenor of the campaign. I think that’s something he will want to do" -BHO
Nope. His sidekick Kelley Ann Conway has already said it is up to Obama and Clinton to reach out and calm the masses, and Trump himself has belittled the protesters. Not going to happen.
From Kos (and has anyone seen Der Spiegel lately? They are going nuts over there):
A German, Johan Franklin, tweeted,
"Dear Americans,
Go ahead, vote for the guy with the loud voice who hates minorities, threatens to imprison his opponents, doesn’t give a fuck about democracy, and claims he alone can fix everything. What could possibly go wrong.
Good luck.

“I think that’s something he will want to do, but this is all happening real fast.”
Sounds like code for “These idiots are so woefully unprepared that we’re all shitting our pants.”
If only there was somebody, maybe a federal judge, that he could petition for a continuance. Perhaps until after his “term.” It’s all so “Very unfair. Sad.”
I will miss this man.
Hell, they’ll seek them out and hire them because they’ll be the only ones with any practical experience.
When I consider McConnell’s comments eight years ago, along with the results of this election, I would respectfully question that conclusion.
Believe me, I say that without any sense of joy whatsoever.
I envision a scenario where Trump is so unpredictable and uncontrollable that the Republicans have no choice but to impeach, only to be stuck with him when the Democrats refuse to play ball.
“When you’re a candidate and you say something that is inaccurate or controversial, it has less impact than when you are president of the United States,” he said. “Everybody around the world is paying attention. Markets move.”
Oh, man, Obama is really fucking with this guy’s head. I can’t say it’s not satisfying.
I know President Obama did not come into office with the intent of alienating anyone.
How many times did he state that he needed to hear the voice of everyone? How many times did he want to have an “honest” conversation with those who didn’t agree with him?
If President Obama made any mistake it was that he was optimistic in “loyal opposition.”
There is nothing loyal about the opposition. The opposition is not interested in the positive advancement of this nation.
If that were the case, I wouldn’t be wishing I had the ability to find another country to live. Harsh as that may sound, I strongly believe in the concept that it takes two to Tango. When one party has been, and continues to be, in opposition to every single plan to advance this nation, economically, socially, scientifically, educationally (do I really need to continue), then the concept of loyal opposition disappears entirely.
