The only thing scarier is that his supporters applauded!!!

I didn’t always appreciate the California blue bubble, and particularly the San Francisco bubble I live in, until recently. When despair sets in, I look out the window and see the Bay Bridge and the high rises of downtown SF and feel calm again.

I also have comfort in knowing that it’s the likelihood of Democratic pols from California becoming the next generation of national leaders. Take a look at this, I think you’ll find it heartening.

This bad actor is so bad he doesn’t even laugh occasionally as he goes through the motions. He grins, he grimaces, he smirks, he looks angry, he does everything but laugh. Take a look. It’s pretty funny but in a scary way.

Sadly, you just know that when Obama was telling Trump that, all Trump heard was the adult-voice in Charlie Brown cartoons—and unlike the kids in those, he doesn’t know how to decipher it.

Yeah, that’s not exactly what I meant, nor is it a very good retort.

I’m ‘supposedly’ a boomer, last of the batch apparently. Except the lines are drawn arbitrarily, the ‘borders’ are artificial and don’t correlate to anything specific. Go ahead, find something that says different…

I also noticed that you failed to reply in any meaningful way reply to what I said about how one is raised making the difference… Very revealing.

I was remembering my duck and cover drills in my Army Base elementary schools. In hindsight I can laugh at how, following the duck and cover part of the drills, we then walked out of the school in single file, just like in the fire drills. As if walking out of the school in single file and assembling the entire student body on the playgrounds would have really been an option 20 minutes after the explosion.

@darrtown Trump’s needless drama is the endless infighting he goads his rival policy teams. Real policy making requires coherency and consistency over time.

Exactly. All they need is a stooge. They got trump and so far he fits the bill. If he gets out of hand, they dump him and go with Pence.

This diatribe of Norquist’s explains why so many Republicans eventually swallowed their pride, folded and voted for trump, even knowing how completely unqualified he is. They just want somebody to sign the trashy destructive bills they put in front of him. It actually helps if he doesn’t understand how government works. Bingo!

It depends on how much damage the GOPers do. Trump claimed we’d get sick of “winning”. I guess that’s when. (sigh)’
I am not holding my breath.

This whole ‘campaign’ has been a branding exercise for Trump, Inc. Trumps thinks he just added another boardroom title to help make money, CEO of USA, Inc… Period. Make money. We are SO screwed.

I guess that’s all I have in common with the Orange Anus.

@sooner–Could be. I think, however, it is more like this:

@sniffit–I will respectfully disagree with you about “the baby boomers ended up so universally fucked in the morality, so utterly self-centered and filled with the need to rationalize their greed.” My work in Title I (aka High Poverty) school districts for 30+ years suggests otherwise–Not rich or greedy at all.

As a side note–I remember those drills. I also remember an exercise in which I was dropped off by my teacher at the top of the country road where I lived, told to run home as fast as I could and record the time. It was an evacuation drill of some sort, and I still have the vivid, mind’s eye image of me, the little third grade fat kid, running home in terror.

@charliee—"Larry King was famous for doing no prep whatsoever for his interviews, because he thought going in blind and uninformed would make his questions more “real.”

I used to supervise teachers, and one thing that became very evident was when the teacher had not prepped the lesson–It was generally a clusterfuck. That same “principle” applied to foreign policy is stupefying beyond intelligent comprehension. So, or course, it is exactly what Trump will do.

@cincypix–A comment here about “reality making,” which has also been referred to in other discussions here:

This is actually a theory in sociology (Berger and Luckmann, 1967) that suggests the way something becomes real and can dominate societal thinking through a process of Social Construction. The short version: If you can persuade enough people to follow your line of thinking over time, it becomes the new reality, regardless of how real it is–Right wing radio and related media over the past 30 + years seems as good an example as any of this process in action.

That also means, though, that at some point it will have to defend itself from the next Socially Constructed reality. That is what we need to be striving to create–and if it is based on verifiable reality, all the better.

POTUS just butch slapped Trump in a very classy way. Trump feels nothing until he looks down and see blood.
