Discussion: Obama To Attend Trump's Inauguration, Won't Comment On Dem Boycott

You’re a President with class, and you’re a President with class, and you’re a President with class, and you…you’re a President.

The most recent polling shows 60% approval for the way President Obama has handled his job with just 37% disapproving.

PeePee, on the other hand, is about to enter that same office with just 37% approving of him. That number has nowhere else to go but down…

Good to know that 37% of the people in this country are to be avoided at all cost.

The President is a bigger man than me. I wouldn’t go.

Neither would I and I really wish he wouldn’t. I’m guessing none of the Bushes will be there. Carter won’t. Just the Democratic presidents Peepee abused the most. They simply shouldn’t attend.

On Weekend Update (I think) they noted that most former presidents would not be there, because they’ll be busy spinning in their graves.

It’s like attending a family dinner with a host you know have said some nasty things about you, has stabbed you in the back and is an awful hateful person. But you still attend because not going would cause more of a stir than it’s worth.

So I understand. I don’t like it, but I see why he will be there.

He’s a classy man that will be missed. I hate that his term is ending. I’d feel better if he weren’t replaced by a putrid immature disgusting man but it is what it is, I guess.
/sigh

Obama To Attend Trump’s Inauguration

Having realized his ticket is not eBay-able…

I am boycotting everything and anything to do with trump.
I’ll be watching movies on Jan 20th.

He’s not my president. He would need to do something truly historically epic to get any respect from me. Like expanding Medicare to everyone, funding Social Security in perpetuity, getting Arabs and Jews to be friends and accept the 2 state solution, cure cancer, stop texting and driving, and getting our best and brightest to serve in government and do it all before breakfast on Jan21st.

Yikes! Glad I have Ad Blocker Plus!

I do too, but I saw this one floating in my TL, so I temporarily disabled it to confirm it :expressionless: The image credit is Craig Harrison at Media Matters.

It shows that for me as well. GAG

President Barack Obama told reporters on Wednesday that he plans to attend Donald Trump's inauguration. But he didn't comment on the mounting list of Democratic lawmakers who say they plan to skip the festivities.

I think only three (live) presidents didn’t attend their successors’ inauguration or swearing-in: John Adams (followed by Jefferson), Andrew Johnson (followed by Grant), and Richard Nixon (followed by Ford). There might be one more. Adams was pissed at Jefferson for defeating him in the 1800 election, I don’t know what A. Johnson’s deal was, and Nixon had skipped town to San Clemency.

Looked on my tablet that does not have the ad blocker and I didn’t see the ticket ads… thankfully.

Your timing was lucky I guess… I just now checked it again and I got the same ads. The same THREE ads less than 30 hours before the event…

(I wonder if anyone hasn’t gotten a LOT of tickets and then won’t simply show up. Haven’t heard of any such thing but it would be hilarious if there’s an organized effort…)

Updating tablet…TPM always takes a long time to load on my tablet… there it is!! A ticket ad. but just one across the top of the page. But since I am in Tucson, Arizona and I lack a plane ticket and it’s too late to attempt to drive there. I guess I’ll hafta fire up my dvd player and start binge watching movies. (Gone With the Wind, Godzilla, The Blob, and movies based on rebellions…the Star Wars movies, Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit)
