Bill Weld: I’m vouching for Clinton.
The “November Surprise” might be a full-on endorsement of Hillary by Weld. That would be worth some votes.
Obama Suggests Some Men Don’t Like Clinton Because She’s A Woman
Golly, that’s news.
@centralasiaexpat This is an interesting election. From your link:
The interview also contained a concession from Weld that their third party bid was likely to not end in victory “in the real world.”
Speaking of news.
The interview last night on Rachel was a beautiful thing. It gave me hope
I’m guessing there are a lot of women that don’t like Hillary because she’s a woman. Right wing women are weird, maybe it’s an inferiority complex?
For many of them, it’s a direct result of religion-based patriarchy. They’ve been raised that way, and then they marry into that same way of thinking. It’s all they’ve ever known, and it doesn’t occur to them to question it.
An excellent take on this issue from a Catholic pub. Here’s a sample…
Last week, a Public Religion Research Institute poll reported some relatively good news: only 38 percent of white Catholic women now support Donald Trump.
But there was troubling data as well: 58 percent of white Catholic men, 71 percent of white evangelical Protestant men, and 60 percent of white evangelical Protestant women still support Trump.
These figures are especially disturbing since, in addition to his volatility, his use of racist, xenophobic and sexually predatory language, his limited ability to articulate sentences, and the fact that he is radically unqualified for the job of president of the United States, Trump’s behavior and beliefs hardly reflect Christian or Catholic values.
“This notion that somehow it’s hard to choose, it shouldn’t be.” (President Barack Obama)
Amen – a thousand times! Thank you, sir.
The Democrats sure do love their identity politics. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why people don’t support Hillary, or Obama for that matter, that have nothing to do with sex or race. Leave it to Team Blue, though, to conflate the opposition of a small group of troglodytes with everyone who opposes them.
Hillary Clinton is a terrible candidate, and it has nothing to do with her sex. It’s about her actions. In the same vein, Obama has been a bad President, and it has nothing to do with his race. It’s about what he’s done in office. Maybe Democrats should actually listen to opposing viewpoints, rather than simply demonizing everybody who doesn’t agree with them. They might actually learn a few things.
You mean, like the c-word that Republicans are so fond of?
Really? I thought they used a different word than “colored” these days.
Obvious statement is obvious.
Since we’ll soon have a Madame President, “C” is today’s new “N.” (But conservatives retain all rights to use the “N” word whenever they deem appropriate.)
Yea I have friends that go to church that don’t allow women to teach men…fuckin’ bizarre to me since the women know most of the men are dumb as hell, but they still bow to their will…astounding.
From an interesting, and cogent analysis by Susan Faludi:
"Yet she’s cast not just as a political combatant but as a demon who, in the imaginings of Republicans like Paul D. Ryan, the speaker of the House, and Representative Trent Franks, would create an America “where passion — the very stuff of life — is extinguished” (the former) and where fetuses would be destroyed “limb from limb” (the latter).

Let’s take personalities out of it. Female heads of state are unremarkable around the world. Europe, Asia, all over. Except here. I don’t think whatever policy differences you might have with Hillary Clinton entirely explain that. Clinton has been the subject of vituperation from the beginning. She didn’t take Bill’s name right away. She made a crack about wanting to do more than bake cookies. And she was one of the most visible examples of a generation of women who began competing in large numbers with men for the highest-status jobs. And she’s been hated in some quarters over it for decades. Anyone who dismisses that factor is a fool or a liar.
Some men blah blah blah she’s a woman.
Obama should just shut up and stop with the identity politics. It’s a lame excuse. Clinton’s problem is Clinton. Why this woman isn’t ten points up on Trump is mind boggling. It has little to do with her gender and much to do with all the baggage she brings to the race, most of which being her own doing - with help from her husband. The Sleaziest First Family I can remember.
I would say the ex-President who sat on the board of a gold mining company which literally buried striking miners alive is a LOT sleazier than the average Democrat.
Of course, you never read that, because you were reading garbage from right wing news sites.
There’s a reason College Educated people are in the Clinton camp…they’ve all been sissified by the educational system in this country. Metrosexualized.
Eustace? Are you c[R]oss dressing?!
