i didn’t say this discipline is perfection.
However it wouldn’t shock me if Rice copped a boost.

I’ve no idea.
It’s clear that Putin did. However if the question is framed right, I bet he would answer that he didn’t expect to be seated across the table with Trump.
Russian is supposedly one of four languages that she’s supposedly fluent at.
Spelling whiz already!!
Yes! 1000x’s YES!!! I’m at the very pinnacle of being incensed at this. Every time I see Putin’s face all I want to do is shove one boot down his throat & grind the other into his face. Not because Hillary maybe, possibly lost the election because of his actions, but because of the sheer effrontery & the extreme level of audacity of what he did, the fact that he got his way, & other than the retaliation Obama promises he will more than not get away with the heinous act of putting his hands into our elections. I don’t feel or see the outrage from fellow Americans, in fact, yours is the first time I’ve read the word anger concerning this topic. Rage, blind unadulterated rage is what I want to see & feel from other people so I don’t feel alone in the wilderness of my indignation, not from our officials, but from fellow Americans. From my officials I want to see ACTION!!! What fucking world have I walked into where George W. Bush would put a smile on my face, & Lindsay Graham & John McCain are looking like heroes to me.
WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
“Proficient”, but I am fairly sure she is not fluent, which was one of the odd things about her supposed specialization. A cursory search shows that this is a widespread doubt, but I didn’t find something dispositive.
Obama should unleash the cyber dogs of war over the next month. Absolutely hack every Russian bank account in sight, steal the loot, shut down every shitty little offshore bank where Russian money is to be found, freeze every Russian asset in sight–and all the time troll the GOP to death with talk of national security, self-defense, and “appropriate retribution.” If there’s a blowback, Trump will have to deal with it. Either he will (1) find his plans to set up an axis of evil with Putin have been dealt a blow; or (2) he will be seen to be caving/selling out to Putin. And more fundamentally, Russia has to pay a price for this, and with Trump coming in will have very few retaliatory options. Obama has a carte blanche here, and he has to use it.
Anyone else notice the fairly active tic in President Obama’s right cheek? I’ve not seen that before. I think just maybe, pace @lamitatron1 above, that this could be indicative of the rage that’s seething just under Obama’s calm exterior (and not just with Putin).
I wish the CIA would drain all the Trump accounts (kids too) to show him this is possible. He is incapable of understanding anything if it doesn’t happen to him.
“There’s no doubt that it contributed to an atmosphere in which the only focus for weeks at a time, months at a time were Hillary’s emails, the Clinton Foundation, political gossip surrounding the DNC,” he told NPR. “Elections can always turn out differently. You never know which factors are going to make a difference. But I have no doubt that it had some impact, just based on the coverage.”
Yeah. And there are still people on the left who refuse to acknowledge they let themselves become Putin’s witless sock puppets.
I changed it to fluent.
Big fucking deal! BHO is a day late and a dollar short. In a month Donald “the draft dodging coward” Trump becomes President. (GAG)
At the first evidence of this, the Administration should have gone totally “hair on fire” about this. It should have been the first topic of the day in the WH Press Room everyday until the election.
Personally, I lay the fault for not weaponizing this at the feet of “No Drama” Obama.
Of course you do. You always do. Next!!
It would also put Chiselin’ Trump in a bind once he takes office. He will have to find a way of appeasing his bromantic partner without angering too many Americans.
Just saw this headline on Google news page
More Republicans view Putin favorably
Let’s see - he’s authoritarian, he hates gays, he loves oil and big business, he controls the media, and if anything goes against his will he kills it or attacks it militarily. I could keep the list going, but all I can say is what is not to like?
The juxtaposition between a cautious, intelligent Leader and…whatever Cheeto is, could not be clearer.
LOL. Good stuff. Let the Orangutan deal with it.
I suppose this falls into the “We’ve always been at war with Eastasia” category.
The actual iron-fist move is to take action and then no-comment it.
There are still people “on the left”–I hate it when they claim this sacred ground–who are still peddling the whole Hillary-and-Trump-are-part-of-the-same-continuum bullshit, too. The word “neoliberal” has become the new “commie.”
