Discussion: Obama: Same-Sex Marriage Ruling 'Is A Victory For America'

Discussion for article #237914

He was a bit slow coming around to support equality after he first got elected, but he sure as hell has made up for that ever since!

Thank you, Mr. President, for reminding me yet again what a good thing my fellow Americans did by not electing John McCain or Mitt Romney to the White House!

I’m finding the silence from people not saying congratulations as informative as the messages from those expressing happiness…

Here’s some of what these goofballs have been claiming if the gays can get hitched:

  1. God’s wrath will come down on America.

  2. States will secede.

  3. Christians will be thrown in jail!

  4. There will be a revolution and civil war!

  5. There will be massive civil disobediece.

  6. Christians will be locked into boxcars and hauled to concentration camps!

7 Pedophilia will be legalized and pedos will run amok marrying and then fucking your kids!

Now, let’s see how much of all of this happens.

After yesterday’s ruling on the ACA and now marriage equality, I’m beginning to wonder if the fundamentalist/Huckabee component of the GOP will split off and form some kind of hard right “Very Silly Fundie Party.” There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth in the days to come and, I dare say, some serious flirting with “nullification.” What fun!

What’s Texas’ excuse?

“those who have come so far on their journey to equality have a responsibility to reach back and help others join them.”

Tell that to Israel.

Sorry…couldn’t resist.

The pattern of human history proves that reaching back is all too often forgone in favor of people pulling the ladder up behind them.

OMG, is CPAC having a convention?

Eloquence and emotion. Two of the many reasons to love our President.

I love my President! __On a personal note, we finally got through to our youngest son and his husband via Skype (married in Dec 2013 in CA) in Africa to inform him of the decision and congratulate him…only to discover his two older brothers had beaten us to the punch.
He and his spouse, both physicians, are passing up financial opportunities here to do good work there, and we are so proud of them.
We raised some fine fellows, kind and good men all. Dang, not a dry eye in the house today!
