Republicans denounce Obama for being “uppity” in 5, 4, 3, 2, …
Oops. He forgot to add “Putin, you’re a thug”.
He didn’t call Putin a thug though
so ObamaFAIL
On a serious note; Pres. Obama is spot on. If Russia was serious about getting to the bottom of this (because they are accusing Ukraine of being at fault) they would be happy to comply. But they seem to be doing an awful lot to thwart the investigation.
They should at least have the decency in doing what’s right by the families of the victims.
But Putin wrestles bears and takes pictures without a shirt on so all is good. /swoon
I think the real question is whether 300 civilian lives can compel the US and the EU to really put the screws to Russia? Or perhaps the question is whether economic measures like that are enough to punish Russia, or if it would only punish all Western economies? Hell of a world we live in.
It’s almost as if a plane went down on the Bundy ranch.
Dutch Public Prosecutor opening war crimes investigation
Maybe Cheney would like to attend the trial.
I like this President and I know it is a hard job but he sounds like Darrell Issa now, (must compel). Diplomacy is still the best weapon in our toolbox.
GOPers and Teabaggers can’t stand it when President Obama calls out Putin, their hero.
The President’s controlled fury and possession of the high ground won’t impact Putie’s domestic US Living Reagan Fan Clubbers craving shirtless leadership…
You mean the People’s Republic of Bundyville?
The farther from The Hague he stays, the better for him.
And doesn’t he know it.
Bundastein?
Time to send in Miss Lindsey!!!
The US is already putting the screws, but the EU, which is much closer to Russia and depends on its oil and gas, has been really reluctant to pressure Putin over Ukraine/Crimea. And the US cannot go it alone. So, if the Dutch don’t mind that their citizens are killed, nothing Obama can do … (And apparently the Dutch government has not spent time in the media over this horrible tragedy.)
“Russia has extraordinary influence over these separatists.”
Yeah, it’s almost as if the Kremlin had command and control over them, or they were Russian special forces masquerading as locals, or … hey, wait a minute!
Well then. I guess Putin believes he can wait this out. And he’s most likely right. It’s always about money… Which is why that plane was flying over Eastern Ukraine in the first place. smh
The Dutch politicians have - they just haven’t appeared on U. S. networks to do so
