Discussion: Obama Rebukes Comey: 'We Don’t Operate On Innuendo' (VIDEO)

Last night’s Lawrence show featured an analyst who mentioned the fact that, in Florida early voting, 28% of Registered Republicans voted for Hillary (in contrast to less than single digit Republican crossovers in the 2012 Florida tallies).

I fervently hope that this trend exists across the country. And THAT would be no innuendo. It would be a resounding rejection of this Monster, Trump.

Oh oh. We’re about to find out Obama gave a kid a wedgie when he was five years old.

It must kill the FBI that he’s so scandal-free.

Trump over reacts to the slightest disparagement. One of the major characteristics of the office of the President is everybody and their brother abuses the occupant of that office…sometimes in the most vile way. Even folks in Congress chime in from time to time with outrageous commentary. What would trump do? Could he control himself? I think not.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest had said Monday
that he would “neither defend nor criticize” Comey’s actions.

Giving entree for BHO to say what was next on his mind:
‘We Don’t Operate On Innuendo’

With still plenty of time before the GE for a presidential–
‘Just WTF were you thinking man?!’

I wonder whether once the election is over (or once he’s out of office) we will find out what Obama really thinks.

I’m waiting for someone to bring up the fact that Obama hired Comey.

Obama has no control over the Republican party, but he does over the AG and the FBI. This is a clear message to Comey. Comey is on his own.

I don’t think they’re familiar with “wedgies” in Kenya…

Exactly. He makes a colossal fuckup and then just disappears. It seems he has no intention of holding himself accountable. Neither the White House nor the DOJ are going to help him out on this. Absent any confidence in him, he should go ahead and resign,

The Justice Department needs to prosecute him for Hatch Act violations. This should have been done last summer when he started his little help-Trump program.

President Hillary Clinton will appoint a new AG, and that person may decide to prosecute Comey. Short of that, he is safe from prosecution.

thanks maximus - Keillor’s OpEd is hilarious and I really needed a good laugh today!

The Office of Independent Counsel would investigate and determine if he violated the Hatch Act, which is not a criminal offense. It would then give cause and political cover for his dismissal. I think it would be a better scenario for Obama to fire him and then leave the vacancy for Clinton to fill. You would merely have an acting-director in the interim. The wailing and gnashing and claims of conspiracy would be even louder if she were the one to kick him to the curb.

Not a fuck up in my estimation given that the right lives and breathes innuendo. Comey knew his letter to Chaffetz would blow up the election however it was worded. That there was a letter about the Clinton emails was all that mattered. Facts and proof are not needed at all. Logic, facts, proof, and a trial are a distraction on the way to extrajudicial conviction. What Comey did was outside DOJ stated policy…waaay outside. To the point that if there’s any foreign entanglement then we can talk treason on his part.
Colossal, but no fuck up.

They will never ever ever attempt to meet us half way.
As is if Hill gets in they are blocking the Scotus and will try to impeach her before she takes the oath of office .

I plan to ignore all the subsets of information and look only at poll aggregates, especially those (like 538) that are looking individually at each state. There are too many variables changing in early voting from 2012 to 2016, and there is no way to determine whether the non-scientifically selected subset of voters included in this or that report is representative of the full body of voters.

Pollsters have reported that voter enthusiasm for responding to polls is affected by recent news about their candidates, with good news increasing participation and bad news dampening it. It is my opinion that such an effect accounts for a substantial minority of the rapid swings in the polls in favor of one candidate or another.

This helps keep me sane, and spares me the effort of chasing down every tidbit of info I can find that might have some bearing on the state of the race.

You’re right on…except it’s been for more than a couple of decades…has it’s seeds back in the fall of Goldwater in the 60s and started flowering in the 70s…now it’s an out of control invasive weed…and not the good kind.
