Kyle Griffin has a clip of Michelle speaking about the portrait. I miss everything about the Obamas. Their normal family, their obvious love and respect for each other, their respect for the Constitution.
Sadly, there’s not enough carvable (carveable?) rock at Mt. Rushmore for another head. But maybe that’s a good thing–it could have been Reagan.
I think Michelle’s portrait is awful. Nothing like her liveliness and strength. Barack’s is pretty good, but perhaps too literal.

I love Barack’s and I like Michelle’s…but I think she is prettier and it lacks her energy. It’s a little too pastel for such a vibrant woman.
The talks they gave at the unveiling were so wonderful. MISS them.
Tiny little reproductions on the internet never do these kinds of things justice.
I think these portraits are true likenesses of the real people they are, no pretension, showing strength, compassion and likeability.

Funny I have the opposite opinion, not crazy about Barack’s (too much green) but I love Michelle’s.
I miss them so much. I can’t even talk about it.

Fun fact: I know the artist who painted Michelle’s portrait. We’re not best buds, much more like nodding acquaintances, but I see her in my neighborhood quite often. I like Michelle’s portrait but I am surprised at the pastel colors given her past work, which I love (http://www.amysherald.com if anyone wants to take a look).
I do miss this couple. Watching the unveiling today made me that much more depressed about the shit gibbon in the WH.
