Discussion for article #238452

Clear, concise, and all that really needs to be said from the podium of the POTUS.

ā€œHe also said there is ā€œno mechanismā€ to revoking a Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Cosby received in 2002.ā€

In other words, ā€œboy, would I like to do that.ā€

Consider an asterisk beside that medal, at the very least…

Ha! My faith in the press remains as they quickly move (I ran, They ran) to the Cosby question skipping the disembowelment of Major Garrett…
Tour de force Prez, though as press gets smaller and smaller.

The big take away from the President’s press conference to discuss NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Remember when Obama gave Cosby the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002? Conservatives do.

My thoughts exactly. I came in while the president was speaking about this. How did Bill Cosby come up at a press conference about the deal with Iran?

Beat me to it. Thanks Obama.

If Bill Cosby were white, would Obama have been asked this question? Just wondering…

April Ryan. The man has the patience of a saint but Major Garret was able to find his limit.

He also said there is ā€œno mechanismā€ to revoking a Presidential Medal of Freedom…YET.

I assume it was the Pres Medal of Freedom that made it a Presidential issue. But still, was the nuclear deal not sexy enough for the reporter to wait for another time?

I’m just happy he included men in his comments as so much of this discussion is always focused on women (for good reason) but they dont seem to get treated as equals in these matters.

American Urban Radio asked a three-part question, two parts of which focused on criminal justice reform. Then she threw in that Cosby question.

The big news was the Iran deal, of course, but a press conference is open to all topics.

That ABC idiot can thank his lucky stars he didn’t get the word ā€˜Donald’ out of his mouth or Mr. Obama would have used him like a scratching post.

I missed it but I came in to see that Steve Clemmons who is a pretty decent background in foreign policy and he said the President as formidable.

I LOVE THIS PRESIDENT. BEST EVER

To be fair, April Ryan is black and she’s the WH correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks. Her questions weren’t about the Iran deal, but about sentencing reform. I think she was asking questions that are of great interest to the black community specifically.
That said, I think this was a wonderful opportunity for the president. He didn’t have to take it, he could’ve easily punted, but he didn’t. He straight out said that what was described was rape. Now, juxtapose the president’s remarks with that of the GOP and their attempts to redefine rape as only ā€œforcible rapeā€. As much as I want the focus of this presser to remain on the Iran deal, I sure wouldn’t mind if some regressive GOPer decides to take issue with the president’s definition of rape or attempts to defend Cosby.

I’m sorry but I just don’t care that much about Bill Cosby. Yes the guy is a degenerative pervert but I’m really getting tired of seeing Gloria Allred parading these teary eyed frumpy middle age victims in front of the TV cameras. If they have a case can get by the statue of limitations, more power to them but why do we need to have the president chime in on the criminal sex acts of a 77 year old has been? Enough already!
