Of course the Affordable Care Act is a “threat to freedom” on Fox News. Gay marriage is a “threat to freedom” on Fox News. So are unions, the EPA, immigrants, black people voting, women demanding equal pay, and the list goes on. Meanwhile, the real threat to freedom is a population systematically misinformed and dumbed down by the likes of Fox News and right wing talk radio, among others.

I’ve happened to run across Dave Ramsey on the radio a few times for short periods. What I heard was generally pretty innocuous, but he sort of had that right wing feel. Last night, someone several years away from retirement asked him about Obamacare, and boy, did the rwnj bs come out at that point. He basically said, “nothing that the gov’t makes is as good as the private sector, so their health insurance won’t be good.” Of course, the govt doesn’t “make” health insurance, they provide information for shopping the private insurers.

For that matter, does the govt actually make anything? AFAIK, there are no govt factories and everything is purchased from private contractors. If govt does actually manufacture something, could it be worse than cars whose brakes don’t work or pajamas that spontaneously combust or major food supplies that contain salmonella?

He went on to say, “Obamacare hasn’t been around very long, but so far, it sucks.” Yeah, cause what we had before was way better, right?

Short of removing his head from his ass, chronic laryngitis would be my hope for him.

Just a point of clarification: Death panels also murder people with physical and mental disabilities, not just the elderly.

That’s why Obama wants you to register them all with the Federal Governement as he would have you do with your guns.
