Whether we like it or not guns are just a part of “America”, right along with apple pie, chevrolet and the stars and stripes. We will never be able to rid them from our society or regulate them. Guns are a growing cancer on our country with no cure in sight.

How many more times will this President have to go before the Nation and speak of the sorrow inflicted by gun violence?

I’m afraid this and future Presidents will be making similar speeches as long as there are citizens out there who throw the red flag of ‘HE’S COMING FOR OUR GUNS11!!!1111!!!’ every time the speech is made.

I’ve seen one already today and we’re mere hours after the perpetrator was caught.

Gave him one within weeks of being picked up twice on drug charges. Parenting at its best?

Thats the kind of defeatist attitude that assures nothing will change. There are plenty of things we can do to mitigate some of these problems. Will we?

Where’s the tipping point? If it wasn’t Newtown or Charleston, what will it be?

There will never be one.

If the deaths of 27 children in an elementary school in CT wasn’t a tipping point, I can’t see one in our future.

As long as the vocal minority controls the discussion, there will be no change.

In both today’s case and the Newtown case, we have a child given a gun, legally procured, by a parent. All the laws in the world won’t protect anyone in this scenario.

If the authors of the Constitution wanted to play a sick joke on their great grandchildren they couldn’t have done better than by writing that idiotic 2nd amendment. That we are so stupid as a nation that we haven’t erased that joke tells a lot about us. Then there is our Supreme Republican Court who chose the worst possible interpretation of that joke when they last ruled on it.

It is obvious to the rest of the world that over half of us are insane, with our worship of guns, but we just never seem to get it.

Founding fathers’ response: “What are you talking about? We put the phrase “well-regulated” right there in the second amendment! So start regulating well, for God’s sake!”

Anders Breivik is the Scandinavian Dylann Storm Roof. (Homicidal young white male political rage is not just for Americans).

But let’s be clear: At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries

Not sure which Countries does he talk about…

It’s a sign from Gawd …If Gawd had not wanted black folks to be massacred, he would not have allowed the black guy to be elected.

Simple.

FIFY, Mr. President.
