Sorry, but like the President says, more can be done. Such as requiring guns sold over the Internet to get background checks, checking to see if a potential buyer has a history of mental illness, etc…so there are MORE “common sense” enforcement laws that need to be implemented. Hope this comment will clear up your misinformation.

I can’t help but hand-wring on this one. It seems these sort of things animate gun nutters and those sympathetic to gun nutterism far more than sane people. But then again, Hillary has been very vocal about her gun control stances on the campaign trail so perhaps there is no reason to worry. Maybe the culture is finally changing on this issue.

In some states, for at least some types of guns, there effectively is. Got to prove you’re safe, you know what you’re doing. It’s not impossible.

Slippery-slope arguments against things are useful when you can’t make a case against a particular thing per se. But unless the thing will inevitably lead to some undesirable outcome, it’s a fallacy. Most gun owners favor universal background checks. The loonies and venal mouthpieces don’t have anything better to trot out than the slippery slope.

You see, Ryan has got to ACT like that, because he’s got a whole army in his house that are after his neck after he AVOIDED a government shutdown AND Planned Parenthood got their funding too!

I read a article a few days ago that Ryan’s enemies in the house are referring to his beard as a “Muslim beard”…now what that means is beyond me. This has all been out of the news, because of the Donald. He is so damn big that media can’t get around him and report other news.

Exactly - it is a fallacy, which is why I don’t understand what their logic is. Maybe logic isn’t the word I’m looking for, since even if something is a fallacy it could still be considered logical. Perhaps “brain damage” is a better term. Or maybe “how can adults embrace child like arguments”.

I think our society has changed on the gun rights issue. Knowing that innocent people can be cut down by mass killers in theaters, schools, shopping centers…places and things we all do everyday and to think that you can get killed like that in America, just should not be.

After all, the “Gun Smoke” days are too far in our past history and it just does not fit in our society today.
