Pres. Obama’s statement today on immigration reform is proof to me that both Democrats and Republicans have been playing football with the issue. Today’s ‘talk’ by the president is just a way of distracting from the Scotus ruling today on contraception.

You are probably an RNC paid troll. Why else are you supporting the party of all the homophobes, the anti-Semites, the Latino bashers, the racists, the gun-scum and those who would require non-medically recommended probes to be stuck up women’s privates? Are you a homophobe? Do you hate Latinos? Are you racist to the core? Are you sexist and think women are second class citizens? Do you think guns are more important than your fellow Americans? Umm, what is your point?
And, how is President “distracting” from SCOTUS/Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby? As far as I can tell, hours after he made this announcement on immigration executive actions, the White House released a statement urging Congress to pass legislation to counter the SCOTUS ruling.
That’s not a distraction, it’s just another day for the President, who has to handle conservative intransigence over anything like immigration legislation (actually, intransigence over anything) at the same time he has to consider how to move forward in the face of a SCOTUS hell-bent on turning back the clock 75 years on women’s reproductive rights – at the same time that the SCOTUS seems equally hell-bent on bestowing all sorts of Constitutional protections on for-profit corporations.
So, again, umm, what is your point?

Why in the world would Obama want to distract us from the Scotus ruling today on contraception? Todays ruling by the SC has given the Democrats the political gift of a lifetime. Quit frankly, I would hope Obama wouldn’t do anything this week in order to make sure the nations focus is on todays ruling on contraception.

It’s not like all of the current or immigrants to be will just magically forget or go, oh well.
The Repubs refool their base, which is the teabaggers as well as the religious fanatics and neocons, on about a quarterly basis and the years pass by. The Latinos, the immigrants that truly get the conservative hackles up OTOH, keep up hope and keep creeping towards having major voting implications. Guess who is really winning this war?
At this pace, the immigrants won’t be asking their racially motivated opponents to pass immigration laws, they will be doing it themselves and that will likely include, tearing down that dang fence (threw a little Reagan in for fun).

The president is able to multitask, that’s what it’s called when he handles several issues at one time. No one is going to forget or overlook today’s horrendous ruling on contraception and undermining a woman’s right to choose motherhood or not. So, yes, he’ll talk about immigration, and maybe shoot hoops and play golf probably, but he’ll never say "now watch this drive.’
