Discussion for article #234366
âIn some cases, though, you have elected officials who are shills for the oil companies or the fossil fuel industry, and thereâs a lot of money involved. Typically in Congress, the committees of jurisdiction, like the energy committees, are populated by folks from places that pump a lot of oil and pump a lot of gas,â
Thank you Mr. President.
Over at RawStory, of course, the only story is what he said about weeeeeeed . . .
All the Republican chairs deny reality in every shape and form.
Did I misread that, or did the President just call Inhofe a shill for the oil companies? Of course he is, but I donât think Iâve ever seen the President use such bluntness, without the buffer of diplomatic speech.
In the Military people call it âbeing shortâ. In the Presidency, itâs called âtwo-term limitâ.
More disturbing Inhoffe gets reelected and Midwest voters are as dumb as the people they elect.
Whoa.
The Prez sure used a lot of words to say âkook.â
Weeeed allows us to forget about Climate Change.
Weed also makes our mind race, so that we get back to climate change and possible solutions in as few short flushes of the brain.
âObama: âDisturbingâ That Climate Denier Chairs Environmental Committeeâ
Letâs start with âDELIBERATEâ and move to âdisturbingâ later.
Went to a St. Patâs party over the weekend with a mostly 65+ crowd. It was 90Âș, which even here in S. CA is more than unusual in March. Several of the guests remarked on the heat (it was hot out there on the patio!) and ruminated on the strangeness of it all, not even one mention of climate change. Was it wrong for me to conclude these were all Fox watchers?
Inevitably, according to them, itâs the solution to climate change. Has something to do with hemp and the infinite supply of tax revenue legalization will bring.
No, really. Thatâs what they say.
I am very disturbed by climate change denier, my family being amongst them. Here in California we have maybe one year left of drinking water in our reservoirs which is a direct result of climate change and the lack of sufficient rain for the last 12 years. Not only are we running out of drinking water but we are experiencing hotter and hotter years. We just had a week of high 90s in early March.
What I donât really donât understand is that we have not even put mandatory water rationing in place yet. I live on a 1.6 acre piece of property with a pool and jacuzzi and I imagine that all of the grass will have to be left to die which is fine with me. We arenât the only ones who will suffer as the whole country will since we supply most of the nationâs fruits and vegetables and other things as well - so the horror of all this will be felt by all.
The people at FOX may have created the most dangerous humans in recorded history:
People who, AS A GROUP, cannot accept facts.
In my old sixth-grade history book, the story is told about the Danish king, Canute, who conquered England and ruled them. Many of his subjects thought him to be divine. In this story, Canute sets out to show his subjects that he was not. He ordered his throne to be placed on the seashore and ordered the tide to stop coming in. When the tide continued in, Canute was able to dispel the notion of his godliness.
The emotionally disturbed people of FOX and the Republican Party will never, in their wretched lives, ever be able to be told factual materials again. Our truths (like the Iran deal, fracking, Climate Change, economic policy) are more complex than the tideâand legions of falsifiers abound who are better at telling lies than truth-tellers are able to say the truth:
Never before, in our planetâs history, have we been presented with a situation like the one which faces us now. And in all of this, in my opinion, the greatest harm is that practiced by those (the MSM) who portray themselves as âabove ideologyâ and who consistently fail to call attention to what I have just written.
Yeah, because there are so many young critical thinkers out there sucking on the end of a blunt. Iâm sure passing a bong around is the starting point to many a rousing intellectual discussion on modern political and ecological issues. Pot use today shouldnât be compared to its use 30-40 years ago. Itâs culturally different in its use as well as its potency.
