The only bill that this GOP congress will pass is one that will spend billions on some stupid fence while slapping around the ‘Browns’. If BO does sign anything passed by this congress, it’s guaranteed to be one shitty bill that will define Obama’s legacy…

Not to worry. They did it in both places. Not withstanding the fact that it is a mistake that many native speakers make, it reflects a basic ignorance of etymology. Many people write “supercede” by analogy to words like “precede” and “recede”. However the Latin root of supersede is sedeo, “sit”, unllke precede and recede where the Latin root means “move”. “Supersede” etymologically means “to sit on top”.

Everyone knows Meet the Press is a shill program for the GOP but today may have taken the cake. They invite Eric Cantor, yet another in a long list of GOPers who lost an election (his GOP primary) and who is not even a congressman anymore, to come on the show and spew GOP talking points about what how incendiary it would be for the President to take executive action re: immigration. Wow. This is a new low even for Meet the Press. They really could not be more biased if they tried. Chuck Todd must be so proud for his latest shill for the GOP.

This is a brilliant threat by the president. I dare you to pass a bill. Yes, my executive action will be overridden (superseded) if you do pass a bill. Till then … Ta Ta!
They will have to act. If they don’t and try to pull impeachment shenanigans it will really highlight what anti-Hispanic clowns the GOP are.

Though this the same thing the president said at the presser on Wednesday, it’s treated as something new. And when the Repugs threaten, as they have, this is not brought up. Liberal media again doing their stenographic duty, can’t hold Boehner or McConnell responsible for their threats, it’s up to the president to “compromise.” Republican governing by hostage taking continues and they’re not called on it.

The Repubes don’t have the votes in the House or the Senate to override Obama’s action!

That’s not what he’s talking about, though.
He’s not talking about Congress passing an override of an executive order through the veto-override process.
He’s saying, rightly, that is Congress passes its own bill on a subject that was addressed in a recent executive order, the act of Congress would supersede the executive order.

That’s a very smart approach Obama is finally taking in fighting these tyrants.They can’t say he’s the tyrant as he’s stating himself that he will defer to any reasonable bill they pass. Great going. If this is a sign of the GOTP majority congress Obama, I like it. Good sign.

A Presidential Veto needs both the House and Senate to vote in 2/3’s majority to override a law passed, by both Houses!
A Presidential Veto is also a Executive Order in the sense it comes from the President!

Obama would use his power to use the veto order not a executive order to override the will of Congress and there isn’t squat Congress, can do about it it except whine!
When it comes to whining, the Republicans are all in a class by themselves! No one can touch them in how fast they whine!
Start with jailing the employers and a very large part of the problem goes away! You won’t see any action from the Repubs in jailing the employers, cause they own them lock, stock and barrel!
He’s cool as opposed to hot, he’s not belittling people, he’s not dismissive, he’s trying to enlighten people particularly his opponents. You certainly wouldn’t hear him say it’s not his job to be friendly to the Speaker of the House. He maintains an even keel, that’s professorial.
