Watching the other side does make me feel gloomy, but after Hillary’s kick@rse performance at the committee followed by that @ss-kicking mockery from Obama, I’m heading into the weekend feeling upbeat What a one-two punch

Folks on the right are glooms by nature. They probably think PBO will go take a long bath and ponder his feet like the last occupant. They are going to be gloomier when he does not.
Pw Bush will never reconcile the results of his appointment to the White House with the potential he had to be a great statesman. Everything he touched turned to gold for him and his masters, while the rest of the world suffered his legacy of: Veni, vidi, devasti.

Agreed, Chams…Not only is he the smoothest operator on the campaign trail, but I think this Senioritis Obama resonates with everyone. He can go to every city for the dem nominee, and put on a roast of the GOP. It’ll be like a comedy tour. People will run out in droves, not only because he’s great, or larger than life, they will come out to see him for nostalgic purposes, as he prepares to exit stage left. Hillary (or whomever the Dem nom is) can use that large crowd to get their message out. That, alone, will help the party we support, immensely.

How weird was that? We just replied to each other at the same time! 
He will be our most formidable campaigner and Biden will be where he can’t. We are going to cream their sorry asses. If only we could get our people to the polls in the mid-terms. I think he will be effective there too because we have a serious problem with too many in our party. We must campaign in the mid-terms as vigorously as we do in our presidential elections

Freakin’ hilarious! Our President tried hard to work with the opposition, to the extent that he was getting bad press even on sites like TPM and Daily Kos. Finally, starting 2nd term, change tactics… if you can’t persuade them, then just beat them with Executive Orders and the Veto (only 5 so far, including the one today). He looks happy and relaxed, and he will end his Presidency strong!

Ah yeah the “good old days”. When every utterance from Bush or Cheney would send your blood pressure through the roof. When there was nothing but terrible news coming from Iraq and Afghanistan, with flag-draped coffins arriving by the planeload, when Americans were cowed into submission by the fascists in charge who bellowed “You’re either with us or with the terrorists!”.
Those were the good old days. And all the Republicans can do is remind us every day how awful they are.
Thanks to President Obama, we’re no longer shedding jobs at a rate of almost a million per month. Our economy is no longer in free fall with $5 gasoline and no hope for the future. We don’t have to worry about a President that embarrasses America every time he opens his mouth on the world stage. Could you imagine anyone wanting to throw a shoe at Obama’s head?
The Republicans are done. Finished. Stick a fork in them. They just don’t know it yet.

We had to live with that in 40’s second term. That was quite enough.
With the GOP clown car and congressional implosion, and the economy hanging in there, Pres. Obama will leave his (Dem) successor with so many positives he didn’t have in the real world. Despite the whining of the Fox following right, Obama had a great deal of real issues to fix before his quite successful - all things considered - agenda could be achieve. Like other folks say, if turnout is sustained in off years, the state is set for many accomplishments in the year ahead. Which has the GOP and their paymasters striking back like a cornered, rabid animal.
I ride around my suburban community spying FOR RENT signs all over the place, signs that less than a decade ago were not there.
To top it off, a liquor store in my community actually closed for good, after thirty years and two owners.
What I’d like to know, who believes everything is great when mega-popular American music performers for the last few decades have been characterizing the MATERNAL HALF of our population as *itches and *hores, less than human creatures and people unworthy of respect?
You bet I have a gloomy face when I see very few Americans with voices, including my president, directly addressing in plain English the serious issue of America’s expanding and shameful National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect, Poverty, that for more than two generations has deprived untold numbers of American kids from experiencing and enjoying a fairly happy American kid childhood with Safe Streets to travel and play on.
Early Childhood Abuse and Neglect that often leads depressed, sometimes suicidal (NY Times May 18, 2015 - Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) children to develop into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults lacking empathy and compassion for others, though needing to vent their pent up negative emotions, often causing emotional and physical harm to peaceful people…instead of venting their anger, resentment and pain on the immature single moms and/or dads who introduced them to a life of pain and struggle by irresponsibly building a family before acquiring the practical skills, PATIENCE and means to successfully raise and nurture a developing young child who matures into a fairly happy responsible teen and adult.
