Discussion: Obama: Can We 'Run Back The Tape' On GOP Hypocrisy On SCOTUS Noms?

Yes! This was aimed directly at Chuck Todd among the other false equivalency kings and queens.

Are we headed towards a purge of the Supreme Court by the GOP? Two of the three most elderly Justices are Dem appointees.

Hypocrisy thy name is Chuck Todd.

Well, in fairness; Andrea Mitchell, Wolf Blitzer, Joe Scarborough…

The list is long, and I only have 30 minutes for lunch.

Those people think being a lame duck takes you off the stage. Fools.

I know there’s no way to legally limit the salaries of newscasters, but I think it would make a nice little app to put an icon next to the newscaster which lists his salary, and which corporate conglomerate pays the salary, along with clickable icons for the news group information.
I’m giving this away—go ahead and become a thousand-aire, someone.
Heck, you can put a database of the newscaster’s opinions and statements on various issues.

I say Halperin is the worst.

I agree. The fact that he’s so smug makes it worse.

Yes, exactly! Worse still: The smugness has no reason. The guy is wrong demonstrably wrong about just about everything.

This poor guy, expending so much energy trying to point out facts. As smart as he is, and he is one of the smartest people alive, he doesn’t know that we’ve transitioned into a post-factual era of American politics. If facts actually mattered, states like Ohio and Florida (much less New Hampshire(!!!)) wouldn’t even be close.
God help us. And I’m an atheist.

Finally. He went there.

“He argued that Republicans and Democrats cannot be blamed equally for congressional gridlock.”

A quote that Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, and Mark Halperin will dutifully condemn as…

The President further contributing to gridlock.

And maybe it’s petty…but I’ve kind of despised him ever since he called our president a dick on national tv…

I am waiting for the day after Election Night and President-Elect Hillary Clinton is named. Then, President Obama calls a joint session of Congress to announce he is pulling the Garland nomination. I want a camera pointed DIRECTLY at Rep. Chuck Grassley’s kisser and Rep. Jim Jordan, the head of the Teabaggers.

The people are free to decide for the judges the Rs want not the judges the Ds want.

Nah, he won’t because he knows the repubs cant allow Obama any win what so ever.

Thay would much rather the dems kill the fillibuster for their future devious deeds. This way they have an excuse to not vote for qualified justices, normalizing the need to control both the presidency and the senate to get nominees through.

They know they get the senate back in '18 and we should all be aware there is no way we get 4 terms for president in a row. Especially with all the BS they will put Clinton through. Even dems will be sick of hearing about Clinton by then, just out of fatigue.

Worse still, this sets up another round of redistricting in Republican favor despite losing popular votes in the house.

I hope HRC is planning on only one term and has big public role for Kaine as VP to build his status.

GOTP is moving the goal post.
In anyone surprised?

Yep, and Watch for the twisting of the meaning if “advise and consent”

“We will only consent if you choose who we advise that you to pick”

Ruth Bader Ginsberg is not only elderly, but she’s a survivor of pancreatic cancer. I suspect she’s first on the list in the GOP’s Supreme Court Deaths pool. If she goes, they’re back in the lead.

Gotta win the Senate.
