I’m just wondering if this means the nightly news will quit complaining about the monumental task TSA has before them at the airports in this country now that this horrible thing has happened. Gawd, they’ve been relentless in their complaints. Everyone knows politicians and news people need to fly more often than most…so get on that Obama. One thing the news media tends to leave out in their reporting is Congress’s role in not authorizing increased funding for the TSA because the GOP, like everything else, is still trying to drown government in the bathtub (except for military spending apparently – there’s always time to find more money for weapons and boondoggle projects the military doesn’t want or need). Congress wants heads to roll over the TSA. Great. That’ll fix things. NOT.
According to the article on the flight elsewhere on the site, the plane made a sudden descent while making first a 90 degree turn left and then a 180 to the right. There didn’t seem to be any declaration of emergency. It certainly doesn’t sound like there was a bomb that brought the plane down.
I know, I know, they have to tell us these things, because if they don’t then something something enter batshit stage right, but still, announcements that Obama (or any POTUS) is being briefed on something like this just strike me as falling under the category of “no shit”.
