Discussion for article #239968
I love this man. I am sure I will be in mourning on January 20, 2017. I may need to do drugs.
For me, that will depend on who is his successor.
Opposing Israel is not antisemitic. Israel would have the USA on the precipice of war if it had its way. Opposing that is not antisemitic. Opposing AIPAC or any other entity that does not have the USA’s best interest a primary is not antisemitic. Dealing with a State Israel is at odds with is not antisemitic.
We can discuss just about anything we want when it comes to Israel and never use the word Jew. But you can be opposed to the political desires of Israels Jews and not be antisemitic. You can favor improving the lot of that Palestinian and not be antisemitic.
Real antisemitism wants Jews harmed. A war between Israel and Iran would do just that.
He described himself as "always a big poppy seed guy." As for toppings, he added: “lox and capers OK, but generally just your basic schmear,”
Later on Breitbart: "Obama admits to Opium addiction"
And they’ll demand a drug test. Bet on it.
He described himself as “always a big poppy seed guy.” As for toppings, he added: “lox and capers OK, but generally just your basic schmear,” referring to a smear of cream cheese.
There he goes again: marching bagels to the door of the oven.
Okay!1 Now that was very funny
And that too
The term “self-hating Jew” is popular with some right-wingers who want to shout down Jewish people who criticize the Israeli government.
I am in agreement with all of these things and I am a Jew. What does that make me? (Cue the “self-hating” Jew smear.) For those of you who read the Bible selectively (or not at all) may I point out that Jews (and Israelites before them) have always had serious disagreements: some of these are recorded in the Book of Samuel and the Book of Kings – in particular the story of how Rehaboam, heir to Solomon provoked the ten northern tribes into rebellion, fracturing the united kingdom. I often wonder whether Netanyahu is aware of this story and which part fits him best.
I don’t know a single person of the Jewish faith in favor of this Agreement who is in any way intimidated or influenced by the accusation of not being a faithful Jew. In fact, if you want to make we Jews even more entrenched in a position, just make that kind of charge.
I am convinced that if Obama were to switch positions and come out against the Iran agreement, the GOP would suddenly be in favor of it.
I got a guy, Chammy…good stuff. haha!
hahahaha! Well done!
Between AIPAC and other groups who want to stop the Iran deal and those backers of the deal who want Congress to sign it, the New York delegation of Jewish congressmen are under a lot of fire. It’s approaching something very ugly.
The link to the WaPo article is only an opinion, as opposed to reporting, but it appears there is a great deal of support among American Jews who support the deal and find themselves disagreeing with Jewish “leaders.”
“Plainly, the idea that American Jews speak as a monolithic bloc needs very early retirement. So does the canard that their commitment to Israel or the views of its prime minister overwhelms their support for Obama and the Iran deal. So does the idea that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leads, or represents, the world’s Jews.”
Bottom Line: AIPAC (et al.) speaks for a small minority of disproportionately-wealthy donors.
That does not surprise me in the least. Thanks.
The issue is Obama is not Neocon enough.
The only prominent Israeli Jew against the deal is Netanyahoo who happens to be a neocon fellow traveler.
My understanding is, the Israeli intellegence community is for it, the Israeli defense community is for the Iran deal.
The only people not for it are Neocons.
Neocons are the idiots who have done more damage to our world than any other group not already labeled a terrorist group.
