I loved President Obama’s measured response from yesterday and appreciate what he said today. My heart goes out to all those people on that airline; can you even imagine taking a trip and thinking it would be shot down? Just sad.
Hopefully the international community will band together and find out what exactly happened and who is responsible.
Currently listening to my coworker incoherently babble about this press conference.
He’s apparently mad that Obama basically said nothing while in the same breath saying words are just words and this is a response to an action. I didn’t bother asking him why it then mattered that Obama didn’t say anything because I wanted him to stop speaking.
See, yesterday, the only ones talking about Obama and how he factored into this were conservatives. The rest of us were like “holy shit, a plane is down, lots of people probably died.”
The rest of us don’t listen to that fat OxiContin addict on AMH8 radio
One of the commenters I heard either last night or this morning (it all tends to run together) said that he was pretty sure the US already knew, based on various forms of surveillance of that area that have been ongoing for some time now. He just wasn’t sure it was something they could afford to make public without revealing methods and sources.
Not sure about the padded cell; but I suspect he will be back to playstation as soon as Mom finishes changing his sheets.
I was thinking along the same lines: in both instances, the squirrels are let out of their cages, armed with super lethal weapons. Only a matter of time before one of the “Second Amendment” criminals (that’s what they mostly are, people who hate law enforcement of any kind) takes down an airliner…
I should add that I also heard last night that the insurgents had posted on their Facebook page (I think that’s where it was) to take credit for downing a fighter plane, and also uploaded video that matched video that was made of the crash site of the Malasian jet. Once it became clear that it was a civilian airliner that had been downed, both the posting and the video were taken down.
That’s a pretty strong indication by itself of who is responsible.
It’s the only way anything of his gets likes. : )
HA! Nice. You first.
Disrespectful asshat.
The downing of flight 17 highlights the dangerous folly of NATO goading Kiev into pursuing a civil war as the solution to its political problems.
So, it’s NATO’s fault that separatists aimed at, and took out, a civilian airliner? Sounds quite a bit like saying the Czechs provoked Germany in the Sudetenland.
what’s your damage? I’m just speaking the truth.
I hope Putin is paying you well to make idiotic non sensical comments.
The Czechs peacefully acquiesced to the German take over of the Sudetenland.
Humanity first. People are dead from all over the world and that connects us. It is also the slap in the face reminder that war is hell, not games. I’m sorry means nothing to the dead or their families and the blame game is unbelievably insulting.
Putin could pull his troops this minute and negotiate a peace agreement quickly if he cared to. Instead, he advances under false pretenses and prioritizes that over all. He may not have direct responsibility to this incident but he is directly responsible for all events that arise from his invasion. If he didn’t go in how would this circumstance ever be?
Also, flying on Malaysian airlines over water, war zones or whatever is a decision worth putting much thought into. Even if they are just having highly unusual bad luck at this time it’s a proven life or death risk. Flying Malaysian is one risk, then going near war zones adds to the risk by many factors.
Bullpucky! They “acquiesced” with a gun held to their head. That you would defend the actions of Germany in this instance tells us all we need to know about you.
