Discussion for article #230480
Hillary will never have the new car smell-- just dirty old Clinton smell that never has a bad word to say about wall street.
All they got to do is buy one of those little Christmas Tree, car fresher things. Itās much cheaper, and a lot less hassle.
I canāt wait to hear a reporter ask Hillary if she has the smell the voters want.
Iām sorry sir - we donāt have any new models this year.
Perhaps this vintage ClintonMobile would suit you?
Itās only been driven on Sundays, I swear!
Didnāt realize that that was an invitation for the usual Hillary haters to pile on her with some more of their stale negativity and Iām sure that Barack didnāt mean it that way.
That hateful stink could stand a major freshening up also.
I will miss Barack and I am looking forward to our next Democratic President personally.
āThey wanna drive something off the lot that doesnāt have as much mileage as me.ā
Obama made the comments while addressing the potential candidacy of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front-runner in the 2016 contest. Though Clinton served in his administration as secretary of state, Obama said voters should expect her to offer some disagreements with his presidency.
Yup. He was totally not talking about Hillary.
Well, Iāll take the somewhat used car smell that Hillary Clinton provides over the smell of the horses ass that you get from sitting in the GOP buggy any day of the week.
Oh? Are the Greens back with their plan to keep a Bush in the Whitehouse in perpetuity?
I donāt knowā¦you would have to ask someone from the Green Party.
Oh Lordy. Did he just diss Hillary or what?
No, I donāt think so.
The American public, though. Yes, that ānew car smellā is a key political issue for them.
I think I see what you did, there. But I was responding more to the content of your post. The Naderites preached the same things about Gore and about Kerry as you do about Hillary.
Not really. The ācontent of my postsā has solely been snarky remarks about Clinton being a tired old insider as well as the obvious target for Obamaās remarks. One is obvious as hell, the other debatable. There is no āpreachingā.
Do we need to go back through your body of work? Dunno why you would trash the Clintons when they come up, and then act like you wouldnāt. Then the āgreenā in your name. Makes it seem very likely that a pattern reemerges.
If thatās what floats your boat.
Or, you could actually make a post that describes your thoughts on this article, instead of making stupid assumptions about other people and their motivations, although that is pretty much a staple of discourse here at TPM.
Playing dumb, your forte.
His lack of political campaigning in 2010 helped undo his Administration.
While āNo Dramaā sat back and did next to nothing in 2014. roughly 60% of people who claim to be a member of his own political party stayed at home, did nothing, and did not vote. The results of this will be all too evident in January, when āNo Dramaā has to spend the balance of his āhistoricā ālegacyā Term with a veto pen in each hand, trying to hold back the barbarians who now keep the gates.
āGive the candidate some space?ā
There is a difference between āSpaceā and just staying out of the way and polishing the marble at your Presidential library.
Obama had two more chances to make a difference again. Once in 2010, and once in 2014.
He muffed both opportunities.
Like so many other āMight have beenā chances from 2009 to 2016, Obama elected to miss the boat. The only questions historians will debate are the frustrating ones of what might have been.
Frankly, I donāt think there will be much call for the lame duck President to campaign for the Diffident Party Nominee in 2016,whoever it may be.
Obama will have finally achieved what he has wanted since the beginning.
No Drama.
And no significant influence either.
If there is a deeper and more troubling definition of personal and political tragedy, both self made, I should like to know what it might be.
Content free, childish insults - your forte.
I am counting on nothing, but we could see some significant silver linings emerge from the demplosion. Though, I think heāll pay for that remark a bit more than he may want to. On the other hand, it is the case that Rolls Royces retain that new car smell forever.
