These are clearly the people we want interpreting our Constitution for us.
Well, he said it about a white GOTPer so maybe itâll actually have some sort of impact this time.
As an Arizonan, Iâve become inured to this sort of âpolitical theatre-of-the-absurd.â Itâs terribly frustrating because nothing seems to help; voting for uncrazy people, AKA Democrats, doesnât help, political activism doesnât help, letters to the editor donât help. Fabulist politics and tribalist religiosity have combined in Arizona, as they have in Texas and elsewhere in the South and Southwest to create a nexus of nonsense and non sequiturs that opposes any sort of rational policy and humanistic goals regardless of how meritorious they are. We progressives in Arizona must groan under a system of barbarous, bolo-tie politics practiced by men and women who, in any caring world, wouldnât ever be allowed near sharp objects or dangerous household chemicals.
Basically, Iâm done! I love the scenery and wildilfe of southeastern Arizona, but I have great incentive, after Mrs Von Holst retires at the end of the year, to join our older daughter in the greater Seattle area.
Whenever someone has tried to talk about âdomestic right-wing terroristsâ the GOP and its supporters have been unanimous in crying âUnfair!â âTheyâre just patriotic Americans!â â(and they vote for us, so leave them alone)â Maybe now if they see themselves starting to be targeted, it will start to sink in to them that allowing this level of insane paranoia to be unleashed is dangerous to everyone - including themselves.
One of my biggest fears would be that one of the uber-pandering Right Wing candidates some how ends up capturing the GOP nod - and then catches a bizarre stroke of fortune (and Koch billions for manipulation) - and the Democratic nominee implodes -
The White House & both houses in the hands of a GOP that only know how to be obstructive, has total disdain for collaborative problem solving & with a huge fear of crossing theses nuts - could truly lead to disaster.
Iâm hoping it doesnât become part of the political everyday back and forth. Palin was dangerous enough with her âtargetingâ of opponents.
Come on, why oh why are all the crazies invading Arizona?
This state used to be conservative (which is bad enough), but NOT fâing nuts!!
The founder of the Oath Keepers, ⌠called for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) to be âhung by the neck until deadâ for treason last week as the president of the Arizona Senate looked on.
Oh sure, easy for him to say, he of the second protective chin.
But theyâre SOVEREIGN! They can make up their own punishments!
What you said.
Not if youâre white and brandishing a gun. All others, yes.
Bonus â If you owe $1M in grazing fees, you and all your buddies can brandish guns and threaten federal officers.
''Hung by the neck until dead" âŚLynch Sen. McCain? oh but why?.. heâs a maverick.
There are many candidates for the eventual cause of this nationâs demise. I think celibate, pudgy white dudes with a poor command of the English language and severe Mommy issues have to lead the pack.
I hear you loud and clear. I am mesmerized by the beauty of the desert, but there is some serious plague spreading, rotting the brains of conservatives. I was going to retire there, but no longer. I donât think Iâll even travel there again.
Reminds me of Rep. Steve Scaliseâs (R-Louisiana) reaction when called out for addressing " the European-American Unity and Rights Organization, which was founded two years earlier by David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan leader and Louisiana politician. Mr. Scalise was a Louisiana state legislator at the time." Back in December, Scaliseâs adviser said âthe congressman didnât know at the time about the groupâs affiliation with racists and neo-Nazi activists.â
Amazing how little these guys actually know.
Better beef up your security, Johnnie. The crazy Palin zombies are now after YOU!
Biggs thought it was âinappropriateâ to interrupt a proposal to lynch a distinguished senator and national hero. Thatâs real strong moral leadership they got down there in Arizona.
I think I see the appeal of the Oath Keepers now. They believe in something. Biggs obviously does not.
Flibberty-gibbet.
There was a time when people like him would get mad, pick up their balls, and go home. Now, they get mad, canât find their balls any more, and just want to !!!KILL- KILL - KILL!!! anyone they donât like.
Go see your doctor palâŚhe has some AndroGel that just might take care of your problemâŚbut then againâŚyouâre at the kill stage and it looks like youâre too far gone.
It could happen.
