Probably a good move. Let the Reps disparage a woman with excellent credentials. if she somehow gets in, she’s very qualified. If she is blocked, (some) women will see the light and vote Dem in the next election.

I’m actually going to enjoy watching this. I think between realizing he’s committed to battle with no possible good outcome on one side, and seeing his party elect Nominee Trump on the other, Mitch McConnell may just have a stroke.
