This shit is so stupid. Iā€™m worn out. I have become comfortablely numb.

Um, can he do that?

Legally I mean. I know, just generally asking ā€œcan he do thatā€ with this alleged human is about as useful of asking it about a hyper 2 year old.

You nailed it ā€” this all is mind numbingly exhausting.

Like for Pink Floyd reference.

Especially when you consider in recent memory that any one of a hundred transgressions by Trump and his administration would have brought the president down .

In fairness, if I were President, and guilty of conspiracy to cover up terrible crimes that I was, in fact, guilty of, Iā€™d also grill anyone called to testify about me and my despicable behavior.

So I sympathize with DJT being a nosey slimeball. Iā€™d totally do the same if I were a desperate, lying, two-faced, psychopathic traitor.

ā€˜McGahn did not release a statement contradicting the story and reportedly had to remind Trump that he did, in fact, ask him to dismiss the special counsel.ā€™

Ok, pressure of the probe, and senility kickin in - thatā€™s good.

ā€˜Trumpā€™s questioning of key witnesses about their conversations with investigators could further spur Muellerā€™s obstruction inquiries, according to experts who spoke with the Times.ā€™

Bolstering the O-O-J case against himself - thatā€™s REALLY good!

I bet youā€™d be far more subtle in how you collected your information, austin_dave. And Iā€™m glad it remains solidly in the theoretical, slim-to-none realm of possibility anyway.

It is an understatement to say that the contrast is marked.

If true, it raises more red flags. A much clearer case though, IMO, already exists against Priebusā€¦who went to the FBI to get them to both A)drop their investigations and B) issue a statement saying they were never investigating the President or his team.

Likewise, McGahnā€™s attempted inquiries to the FISA court to find out which Trumpers had outstanding wiretap warrants is also a pretty clear case of OOJ and abuse of power.

Both of these episodes were pretty widely reported at the time. And both were part of a wider effort by the Trumpers to find out just who the FBI was investigating. (Watnick-Cohn digging into FISA records was also part of this effort ). As I said at the time, it was a red flag that the Russia stuff was so widespread, that they didnā€™t even know themselves how exposed they were, and who specifically was exposed.

Iā€™d say uncomfortably numb.

Is this witness tampering? Canā€™t McCahn and pubert be called back at some point?

IANAL but they were discussing this topic on talking heads last night and they said not likely OOJ or witness tampering but also not cool.

Why are McGahn snd Priebus ratting on Trump?

just a wild ass guess, but perhaps they know dotard is guilty AF and they donā€™t want to go to jail for the rest of their lives for being complicit?

It certainly further documents (I am not a lawyer and do not recall the exact term of the art) Trumpā€™s guilty conscience, or whatever itā€™s called that is apparently a necessary component of OOJ.

ā€œHey, what did you talk about with the police in their investigation into meā€ is a real bad look.

or ā€œconsciousness of guiltā€ too

Yeah, thatā€™s what several former prosecutors said on MSNBC last night. I also got the impression itā€™s part of a much bigger picture. Each of these events separately and alone arenā€™t obstruction. However, thereā€™s a pattern of behavior that collectively adds up to a pretty strong case for obstruction. Itā€™s also an even stronger case that the president is a stupid, spoiled brat who lacks even the kind of basic self-control to keep from entangling himself into greater and greater legal peril.
