Kellyanne for sure
The BS just never stops.
Great. Now we have some sneaks in the White House who are doing only God knows what, along with the insane Trump and whoever is loyal to him (Miller?) This is not a good sign.
Coward.
Well… the one thing we do know is that it was not written by Sessions… It was too well written and they don’t teach 'em to write that good down in good 'ole Alabama.
“To frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”
I would say they aren’t doing a very good job of thwarting.
Frightening on any number of levels, perhaps most of all that it could be worse.
Although “we considered the 25th but thought it would provoke him to do something even more rash” (my read) is a very close second.
This op-ed is news. It is a jaw-dropping admission. The fact that the Times participated in this cowardly mea culpa is disgusting. The author confesses to undermining his boss. Never mind that it is the right thing to do. He needs to come out, share what he is doing, what he sees, and how our constitution can possibly survive a defense secretary with his own foreign policy because the president is, in your words Mr. Mattis, “amoral.” Mr. Mattis needs to resign or invoke the 25th.
The Veep State?
Goddamn - quit covering up for him! If y’all weren’t trying to keep things sane we would have likely gotten rid of hiim before now.
Y’all are not helping trying to protect this lunatic - despite your fine words about trying to protect the country. That’s bullshit that is.
The bottom line is although he may be trying to thwart what he considers to be Trumps worst actions, this writer still thinks there is some good in what Trump is doing, and it appears that the NYTimes is going to protect his identity. WOW
I don’t know what to make of this. The McCain stuff is mainly there to piss off Trump. To what end? Maybe the author thinks this will help them in post-Trump Republican politics? I’m baffled. Slack-jawed, but baffled nevertheless.
Somebody is trying to set themselves up as a secret hero for when the bottom falls out of this shit basket. You know, instead of a complicit enabler of a grossly incompetent and corrupt president.
At lest this will really piss Trump off - if that even matters anymore.
Someone’s about to get fired, methinks.
And test the legality of Trump era NDAs.
All staff will be issued safety goggles to keep the flying rage-spittle out of their eyes.
Next Huckabee Sanders - Yet another disgruntled employee,
I read it. It made me sick. You see, it’s not all bad. They’re just trying ensure that his presidency is successful.
Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.
Such heroes!
Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.
The bigger concern is not what Mr. Trump has done to the presidency but rather what we as a nation have allowed him to do to us. We have sunk low with him and allowed our discourse to be stripped of civility.
Cue the National Anthem.
There is a quiet resistance within the administration of people choosing to put country first. But the real difference will be made by everyday citizens rising above politics, reaching across the aisle and resolving to shed the labels in favor of a single one: Americans.
They all must be on crack. Good grief.
