Thanks Obama.
(mock derision)
“The analysis shows how the law lifted some of the most vulnerable citizens,” the Times reported.

Shame on those sellout establishment moderate Democrats. Forever shame. We need a Revolution!
Interesting. I specifically remember back to 2013 and the trolls on this site were going on relentlessly that the ACA would collapse under its own weight.
Didn’t happen. Now, it’s pretty much enshrined in the body politic as is SS and Medicare.
If/when a Democratic secures the White House it will become permenantly embedded. Now of course (the next two years) will be the time to pivot to a robust public option within the ACA framework. Push to allow Medicare to negotiate pharma prices outside the United States, and other initiates to build, expand and improve the ACA.
Next order of business. Educating them on the merits of voting, not just for the president, but also down ticket, congress.
I cannot wait for President Ryan to stop this outrage.
In other words, two of the groups the Republican party hates most. (Not including gays, blacks, women, union members, scientists, teachers, artists…)
However, the decision by some states to not expand Medicaid has limited the gains of minority groups and particularly the gains of African-Americans, as about 60 percent of poor blacks live in non-Medicaid expansion states, the Times said.
Which explains why red states have been very reluctant in Medicaid expansion.
I was going to say, this should result in a firestorm of Trump and Cruz racist rhetoric. I’d have some popcorn, if my stomach weren’t going to be turned by the disgusting, inhumane statements to come…
As someone who is not HIspanic, nor poor, and has now crossed over into the world of Medicare, I’d like to provide a brief synopsis on the impact of the AFCA on me. 1) It allowed me to quit my job to write a book. 2) I kept every one of my physicians, 3) I received no subsidy, 4) My wife who has a pre-existing condition will remain on AFCA until she turns 65. The rates increased each year, but were still well below what it would have cost me if I had remained under COBRA and were generally acceptable. My only complaint was Iowa didn’t set-up its own exchange in a fit of petulance by Gov. Branstad. Even better news is that the dominant health insurance provider, Wellmark, will be on the exchange next year to compete for my wife’s policy. Overall, a huge benefit to me and my family as it is to anyone else in my situation.
Earlier day there was a story about a group of repubs including ryan who assured us there’s working on a replacement for ACA, it’ll take “another month or so” they say. You must tell your story to them because it’s the quintessential success story and should prove to RWNs everywhere that reversing course is not the answer. @lestatdelc suggested there be a “Push to allow Medicare to negotiate pharma prices outside the United States, and other initiates to build, expand and improve the ACA” and that’s all they should be working on

And we all know how great it’s going to be!!
Everyone whose insurance rates aren’t being tapped by providers hiking their charges to pay for the health care of those people kinda had a win here, too.
Good point.
We are all winners, also, if we rely on the work and good health of any of those who now have health care and should be healthier and more productive over their lifetimes.
No wonder Republicans are in such a hurry to replace the darned thing.
In other words, the nation as a whole wins, just as was intended.
Edit: To delete redundant comment. I really should read what I’m quoting.
To be fair to the Republicans, they did warn that, somewhere out there, some undeserving person would benefit.
Did Iowa accept the Medicaid expansion?
Reading the details of the low-wage workers and the immigrants who are finally getting the healthcare they deserve due to the compassion our president brought to the job almost made me cry. They are the people who wait on us, work in the restaurants we go and clean our hotel rooms and never had health coverage in their adult lives. Along the same lines, the poor of Louisiana are finally getting health care since there is a new Democratic governor.
