Uncertain what this portends… but when talented folks leave this administration, we will be left with the unwashed masses running things. Egad.

She was the firewall. This could be the beginning of the end of the Mueller investigation.

Stepping off a sinking ship to save her reputation before being thrust into a ~list a day of the week~ massacre and blighting her career? Or Something more orchestrated and signaling the coming of said massacre?

Buck up, it might not be that bad.

I understand her replacement in the line of succession is some Trump appointee named Lionel Hutz.

Why wait for the Valentine’s Day Massacre?

Is it my imagination or are things seeming more out of control?

The New York Times did not say that Trump’s attacks on the Mueller probe were the reason that Brand was resigning. But the paper noted that if Trump fired Rosenstein, it would place Brand in Trump’s crosshairs as she took on oversight of the investigation.

A political appointee, Brand had left private practice to join the Trump administration, but had worked in political positions under prior administrations. She has been seen as a rising star within the conservative legal world.

Her position gives her oversight over a wide range of Justice Department offices and initiatives, including the civil rights and antitrust divisions.

Sounds a bit like the firing of Rosenstein is being seen as becoming more likely and she doesn’t want any part of the aftermath…if one were to speculate.

Sure feels that way to me too…

Maybe when she took the #3 spot, it seemed as if it would be a typical Republican administration. One that is more normal with respect for the rule of law? Her departure should trouble Congress but they won’t bat an eye.

She’s the last in confirmed appointees…if Rosenstein and Sessions get canned, their replacements will have to go through the Senate. Unless *Trump gets a recess appointment
Wouldn’t it be weird if Sessions turns out to be the good guy in all of this?

Day by day.

Anyone remember the old “Frog in a Blender?” flash thing that got emailed around years ago?

I heard a horse neighing in the background.

Yeah I don’t think they’ll let him have a recess appointment - they’ve been blocking that all along.

No, it is not your imagination, and yes, things are more out of control.

For whom. Them or us?

At this point, the White House seems to be in a free fall. We are suffering the lack of leadership, they are suffering the leadership.

So everyone is on the same frame of thought.
