And this is what happens when you a warped sense of “impartiality” that has been hammered into our society because we forgot what fairness actually means
No one from his office called him? His humiliation is complete.
That struck me too.
I was thinking Trump wanted to make sure Comey was far from his office, his files, the investigation; that he gets off on the public humiliation of making sure Comey learned about it through the news. But of course that is giving the WH too much credit for maliciousness that could be explained by incompetence.
Trump’s Razor strikes again.
Man betrays ethics for partisan hit job, later pays ironic price in most humiliating fashion.
Radioactive Cheeto Kaiju still raging through executive branch.
I’d like to feel sorry for Director Comey, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. I do feel sorry for our Country.
Trump’s firing of the guy who was crucial to his winning the election is a brilliant illustration of the old adage: no good deed goes unpunished.
But of course that is giving the WH too much credit for maliciousness that could be explained by incompetence.
Don’t forget that Trump is the vindictive sociopath who reneged on paying for a young relative’s health care because he was angry at the kid’s father. Maliciousness is fundamental to his nature.
Tears for our country are well understood and indeed appreciated.
Vengeful ole cuss ain’t he, though?! Remember Trump’s days’ long vengeance Extravaganza, stringing along Romney like he was truly going to offer him a job?! Who has time for that prepubescent masturbatory trash?!
Just like I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot and when the Challenger blew up, I will always remember where I was when I heard that Comey had come out right before the election to say that new evidence in the e-mail investigation had been uncovered. I immediately texted my best friend and said James Comey had just lost the election for HRC - he did not think it was that big of a deal. I have been living in an alternate reality ever since.
All I can say is I hope that this is an even bigger deal than that was. The Trump presidency has me wearing Depends and the more cornered this rabid little orange skunk gets the more impulsive and crazy his actions are going to get. Anyone who doesn’t think he will destroy the world to defend his ego doesn’t get where this guy is at psychologically.
And fuck James Comey by the way.
The other question I have is “How did the press get hold of the story before Comey got his letter?” I mean, if trump’s letter wasn’t delivered, did someone in the WH clue in the press anyway? Who knew about this letter and then leaked it to the press? Whether Comey ‘deserved’ to be fired or not, he certainly didn’t deserve to find out about it via TV in front of an audience he was addressing. Such low class people in our WH.
It is part of the Trump School of Business, humiliate before dismissing. Think about Christie, Romney, Cruz, Lil’ Marco etc. He’s a sadistic fuck. He never forgets a slight. Praise them up then send them away with their tail between their legs. And screw Comey also.
You mean you don’t think the WH will try to find the source of the leak?
I guess he thought the FBI’s restrictions against opining on subjects of investigations and influencing political campaign were big jokes as well.
Oh, I agree. I so agree.
But, he’s also impulsive - especially when enraged and (rightfully) scared shitless by what Comey knows and could tell Congress. I don’t think, under the circumstances, he would have thought out the public humiliation angle that thoroughly - he probably thought is was enough that he sent his personal bodyguard to deliver the letter, like some mob boss sending his trusted flunky to make the kill.
“Mr. Comey laughed, saying he thought it was a fairly funny prank.”
Calling him naive would be the grandest understatement ever…
So, how’s about we stage a nationwide protest of Fox as the epitome of Fake News? July 4th would be a good day for me!
Heh. I kind of enjoy the stupidity. Trump is so bad at this, he can’t even get cronyism right!
He’ll chop off the hand that put him in office on a whim.
It’s real. But, due to the 140-character limit, the end of it was cut off. It was intended to read, “… they will be thanking me, or ELSE!”
