Discussion: NYT: Chamber Of Commerce Will Support Mary Landrieu

Discussion for article #225618

And what this means is that, like her or her rhetoric or dislike her/it, she has positioned herself precisely in her demographic to winā€“which, in the case of Senate majority, matters more than her/it.

The Tea Party is the most anti-business party in modern times.

Another race we need if we want to keep the Senate. We canā€™t let the media narrative of ā€˜Republicans will take the Senateā€™ keep us down. Prove them wrong, and the only way to do that is to VOTE! The ā€˜Dem turnoutā€™ problems are another overblown media narrative. What about 2006, huh?

Being endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce is about one click above being picked to win by Dick Cheney.

Sad but true: A Dem endorsed by the thugs at the Chamber, which helped create the Tea Party in their partisan giving for the last six years, is better than any any any Republican.

Which means that progressives have to fight like hell to get her re-elected, then oppose just about everything that she votes for, especially on energy issues.

The Chamber of Commerce will spend much more money than Dick ever would.

Dick would happily spend other peopleā€™s money, as long as it went to his friends.

Thatā€™s good news. LA and Arkansas are ground zero in the Senate. Begich is doing well in Alaska. Hagan is doing well in NC. Grimes and Nunn have a real chance in their races. Dems are sure to make gains in the Governorsā€™ races too.

I still think the GOP is gonna have a ā€œWtf?ā€ moment on 11/5 and the finger-pointing,blame game will start immediately.

This is what the Chamber belatedly discovered after theyā€™d spent a ton of money supporting useless tea baggers who not only had no use for government but also for business The Chamber alienated Democrats in the process, and as much as I hate to use the phrase "walking it backā€™, this is that theyā€™re now doingā€¦ The linked NY Times article is worth reading.

Check out the polling for the governors races in Kansas(!?!?)

Haley is in trouble in South Carolina as well. We now have leads or are tied in OH, GA, MI, PA, FL, KS and SC.

Most legitimate polling I have seen has Pryor holding/opening up a lead on Cotton now, btw.

The best thing in this poll . . .

I couldnā€™t help but notice in that RCP that Rasmussen Reports has Brownback up +7 in their rolling robo-call poll.

Good signā€¦ For Davis

Yep and I believe that about Pryor. I keep harping on LA and Arkansas because I believe the path to a GOP Senate majority goes through both states. GOPs cannot lose either one of those races and expect to take the Senate back.

Scott Walker is also barely tied in WI. His latest ad attacks Trek Bicycles,.a successful local business and the basis of Mary Burkeā€™s reputation, for outsourcing to China and various other sins. Unmentioned, of course, is Walkerā€™s previous support for Trek in particular and outsourcing in general.
