Worst kind of cop - thinks he’s a freaking commando - a one man crime stopping wannabe superhero.
That guy in the white shirt has nothing identifying himself as a cop. How amazing that no one questions an attack like that in front of a fancy hotel.
If there were audio, you could clearly hear the cop say “STOP RESISTING ARREST! STOP RESISTING ARREST!!!”. Which proves, of course, that Blake was resisting arrest, despite your lying eyes.
ETA: I’m dying to know what the woman who’s pointing at Blake (?) says toward the end of the video.
ETA2: Per Blake’s account, I’m wrong. The cops never identified themselves as cops, causing him to cancel his credit cards out of fear that he’d been a victim of a scam, albeit a violent one.
It’s totally his fault. Had he understood how scary black men are with their superhuman strength and monster-like appearance, he would have already had handcuffs on before he left the hotel room and been lying face down in the presence of any potential police officer. When will black culture finally teach these animals how to behave around an officer of the law?
Seriously though, that was assault and the thug cop belongs in jail. But if there hadn’t been a video, we’d all be told how we were only hearing one side of the story, and how he was exaggerating what they did while not mentioning the things he did to cause the cop to attack him. Because all cops are assumed to be good until video footage proves otherwise, and even that’s not good enough for many people. Just sickening.
Good grief. Not even so much as a hello, what’s your name, what are you doing here. Nothing.
Enjoy that desk duty, jackass.
If Blake had escaped from this take-down … and attempted to run to safety, it is entirely plausible that this cop would have pulled out his gun and emptied it into him
I was thinking the same thing. If I’d been attacked like that I would have fought back, and then, oh, assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, when really he was no different from some skinhead psycho high on meth.
You know, after you’ve had a broken neck, the last thing you need is for someone to tackle you and throw you to the ground. He really ought to get an MRI and then sue.
What really gets me about these police videos are the number of people who 1) Insist that the media shouldn’t be showing us these videos because it’s only intended to start race riots and attacks on cops. And 2) Truly seem to believe that all these claims of police violence are recent events, because they never saw the videos before.
And it’s like…no, this is what people have been complaining about for decades, while you dismissed them as lying criminals. And no, it’s not the media’s job to coverup police violence. It’s the police’s job to not have violent cops. But these people have their reality and they’re sticking to it, no matter how many videos prove that there are lots of bad cops and the “good” ones have been covering up for them all these years.
OMG!! Can you imagine what was going through Blake’s mind?!? A “guy” just runs up to you and throws you to the ground! This is messed up on SO many levels. I would love to see the police report he filed BEFORE all this blew up in the media.
Five civilian complaints, two excessive force lawsuits filed against this clown in only four years on the job.
Fire this maniac now before he kills someone!!!
Enjoy that desk duty, jackass.
Enjoy jail! From my perspective, that cop is guilty of assault under color of authority.
I heard after the cop realized he had the wrong guy he didn’t even report the incident.
That’s all kinds of fucked up.
In 'Merka blacks have to assume that this can happen to them any time any place because, black.
The police are always on the lookout for someone black who looks like you if you are black.
The police then get to use the “but, but, but…we had no way of knowing that he wasn’t the suspect!!!” Rather than making sure of what they are doing before they attack.
Running away from a person who attacks you IS the act of a guilty person and therefore an admission of guilt. Jeebys said so!
In what world is that appropriate police conduct?
Works for me, but this added detail is infuriating:
Five civilian complaints, two excessive force lawsuits filed against this clown in only four years on the job.
Unbelievable that this thug still has a job.
As a younger man and not knowing this assailant was a cop, I might have resisted and resisted successfully and gotten shot in the process. If it happened now, with my severe arthritis, I might very well have suffered permanent and disabling injuries that put me in a wheelchair.
And the man of darker complexion, who came out of the revolving door, saw what was happening and went back in the hotel-- I wonder what was going through his head.
