You can’t blame the reporter for being confused. For 8 years most of us wondered who was president and who was vice-president.

I do feel sorry for the NYT…

It says something about a society when the flagship outlet of its free press occasionally lets the truth slip out, and everyone in the Outer Party just smirks in reaction.

An earlier version of a summary with this article misstated the former title of Dick Cheney. He was a Richard playing a dick. We regret the error.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, What’s in a title, a guy calling the shots for “president” Bush, by any other name, is still president.

Sadly, due to staff cuts, the correction came without a blow job.

On the one hand, it’s an easy and easily forgivable mistake to make.

On the other hand, how can one ever fail to link Cheney and “vice”?
