Wish I could get a 5,000% return on my investment.
Exactly. The only things that Donald Trump would give away willingly are turds (in all senses - yuck! - of the word).
Hmmmmmmm…maybe a reason why Donnie always has audits?
Maybe this is something that someone like Schneider and the IRS will take a much closer look at now…?
A lot of people are saying Cockholster will be locating his Presidential Twitterbrary at Fresh Kills Landfill.
Tax write off: $100 million
It’s important to remember that every time somebody takes a tax write-off it is essentially a purloined gift from taxpayers.
It’s purely on his say-so, too, isn’t it - not an actual financial return.
How hard would it have been to get a couple of non-beholden realtors to do a valid evaluation of the property value?
I would imagine the city is pissed. They likely had tax revenue coming in from this property until Trump donated it to the state. Besides the amazingly profitable tax write-off for Trump, I’ll bet he enjoyed inflicting payback to the city for not going along with his golf-course deal. And he made sure those signs were there as reminders.
Oh come on, writing off $98 million in vaporware real estate is a bit different than taking the standard deduction for state sales tax or whatever.
Tax incentives (and punishments) is what this country does instead of making laws that tell people, companies, or industries what they shouldn’t do or what they have to do. Exhibit A: Obamacare tax penalty (you have a choice!)
Assembly member Nily Rozic, a Democrat from Queens, has started a petition to change the name of the Donald J. Trump state park to honor Heather Heyer
Oh, that’s brilliant. You have my support Assemblywoman Rozic.
I grew up in the town of Yorktown where part of the park is located. When I was a kid I learned horse riding at Indian Hill which is a riding academy adjacent to and a part of it.
The land has been pretty much left to its natural state for years with some maintenance performed by the town and state. You would have hikers and motorcyclists making use of it. Now maintenance is apparently non existent.
As far as renaming it is concerned it ought to be named for a local who had a positive impact on the community such as Seeger or the civil war hero.
City? Park is in Westchester county in the woods. You mean county?
Going by e.g. Wikipedia, which says the state park is entirely within the bounds of the towns of Yorktown and Putnam Valley. Plus it was the city (Yorktown?) that refused to give Trump the zoning changes he demanded.
ETA: My very limited experience with anything in New York state is visiting close relatives who settled near Mohonk (absolutely gorgeous country). I remember the distinction between town and township and county was not very obvious, but very important to the people who live there
Unless someone comes up with a huge fund to bring the place up to the standards that make people want to visit the park, I don’t think this honors Heather Heyer or anyone else. Since it’s closed, take down the sign, refer to it as “the park”.
By the way, does anyone remember the shitstorm (pardon the association) when the Clintons took a $2.00 per pair write off for Bill’s donated underwear?
lets all pitch in for a diving board… 3 meter…
“People don’t know, but most boards are tiny. They’re just above the water. You jump in, you throw a protester in - just joking, that’s a joke. You’ve never seen a board this big. They should use this in the Olympics. It’s big. It’s the biggest board the world has ever seen.”
Property contaminated by asbestos
LOL. They can rename the park and let him choose between the (as he would see it) insult and taking the property back.
Yes, I remember the Clinton underwear story. They donated a bunch of clothes to charity and itemized the estimated cost of each item on the receipt. Wing nut heads exploded. No wonder why Hillary released 39 years of taxes.
I grew up in Yorktown it’s a town. There are also associated hamlets and villages in the town like Jefferson Valley and Kitchawan where IBM is located.
