According to Nunes, there’s a “tough job” to be done and “there’s nobody else better than me to be doing it.”
And he wonders why he’s the only one not ROTFLing at that remark.
Mostly Wrong!
“There’s no one better than me…”
Au contraire narcissistic idiot from the great state of California.
Covering up all those crimes is a tough job. Just not the one he was elected to do.
Nunes is winning this somehow, because he’s protected by the procedural power that he’s abusing. Time for Dems to talk about Ryan’s participation in the Trump-Russia cover-up by failing to remove Nunes from the chair of the IC. Time to start alleging criminal conduct on the part of the WH and Nunes for obstructing the work of Congress (18 U.S. Code § 1505 - Obstruction of proceedings before departments, agencies, and committees). The whole thing is starting to assume chaotic and comic proportions, which is only a win for Trump.
So here’s what the article says:
Nunes told KSEE that just because people in the White House might have been aware of the reports, they weren’t necessarily “the source of my information.”
There’s no link to the KSEE interview itself, so I’m really curious what wiggle words he was using there. Bit of advice, Nunes, if you’re actually calling BS on the NYT on this one, you better be right about it. Or else you’re just digging your hole even deeper. (Not that I have a problem with that!)
(Note to TPM, I love the photo selection of Nunes. :->)
Nunes - salvage effort (trying to save the wreck of an series of actions he and others covertly took to do salvage to Trump’s reckless actions.)
What everyone else see’s - refuse with no salvage (valuable wrecked stuff worth saving) among the refuse.
Heck of a Job Nunie!
I will pay anyone $1000 and legal fees if anyone just punches this motherfucker in the face.
???
He is not “winning” anything. He is demonstrating what a pathetic, milquetoast liar he is and a textbook example of what Sling Blade mentality crooks do when they’re overwhelmed.
But it’s going on and on, with no end in sight. What scenario do you think will result in Nunes no longer leading the investigation? That’s the endgame–crippling the work of the committee. He’s succeeded in doing that, admittedly at the personal cost of losing his credibility. But the committee can no longer function and in fact is no longer functioning.
Marathon, not sprint.
There’s not going to be a Perry Mason moment. The inertia of entire affair will bring it all together and slowly, slowly, those forces of accretion are going to squeeze Nuñez (a waste of skin and fat if there ever was one) and he’ll slink off. He’s a low-level moron without any talent for lying.
Again: marathon, not sprint.
“Those reports are mostly wrong,”
Oh FFS.
Are we getting warmer?
Warmer?
How 'bout now?
Edit to add:
He has confirmed he met with a source,
who he previously said was an intelligence,
not a White House, official,
on White House grounds
the day before he went public
Animal, mineral or vegetable?
Bigger than a breadbox?
My impression (although I’m generally an idiot, so take what I say with a grain of salt) is that everybody has actually given up on the House committee and moved their attention to the Senate Intelligence Committee. But that puts a ton of pressure on Sen. Burr because if he doesn’t conduct an investigation that Sen. Warner likes, he’s got plenty of ammo (that Nunes & the White House have given him) to call for a special prosecutor. And with several GOP’ers already indicating they’d be ok with a special prosecutor – Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham – it could become a real possibility. Obviously trump, Burr, and Nunes would all like to avoid a special prosecutor.
“'Mostly they come out at night…mostly.” This entire situation has deteriorated into farce much more quickly than anyone would have expected. How long can this stonewalling go on?? I give it another week or so.
Sad news, honey, I’m mostly pregnant…
[quote=“nemo, post:11, topic:53850”]What scenario do you think will result in Nunes no longer leading the investigation?

Maybe none, but there’s also the Senate, the FBI and the collective plunging approval ratings of everyone currently hitching a ride in this fusterclucking clown car. I’m reasonably comfortable that they’re all going down, it just remains to determine by which elevator…
Does the 30 year-old have a strong enough neck to hang all this on?
