This is one sequel that will never be produced.

Trump’s tweet this morning, after the Nunes memo fell flat, supports the argument below.

I now actually think there is a very strong probability that this memo was initiated and its release orchestrated by the White House, just as was the first attempt by Nunes to undercut the investigation. I anticipate that solid evidence may be found to support this possibility and I can see such findings igniting a crowning backfire that helps burn up Trump and his ilk. To wit, it will strengthen the legal case for obstruction against Trump and others, provoke public outcry, and then support impeachment.

Of course, we still await the next actions of Trump. It seems to me his hand for firing Rosenstein and deflecting Mueller has been seriously weakened by the release of the memo. If he does so now, I doubt he will survive the outcry.

My main hope today is that the responsible media not fall into the trap of giving the Republicans more air time on their memo now. Repetition will simply feed their meme and help make the false seem true by permitting them to use what they have learned from Joseph Goebbles, their primary intellectual inspiration. Evil acts deserve harsh condemnation.

Going after State now to my innocent ears suggests kompromat, Putin Bucks, or both. Suggests like an air horn right in your ear, I should add.

I don’t know, I think Nunes could out-produce “The Producers”.

I think it’s certainly going to end the same way.

NYT has an article this morning trashing the thing, and the process the Repugnics used. I don’t think a honeymoon period is indicated.

If you wonder what Fascism looks like in practice, this is Fascism; A governmental system led by a strong leader demanding complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism. # NeverHillary

"Memo from the Office of Devin Nunez.

Alberto the janitor at the State Dept is a sloppy mopper. I think he’s a Dreamer. At least, that’s what Glorius Leader Trump told me, because he think he’s a lazy Mexican who sleeps on the job. Leader Trump laughed and said if you want to sleep on the job get a job as President. You get to sleep until 4PM, and there’s all you can eat cheeseburgers in bed.

I would recommend firing Alberto, but he’s currently the top ranking official at the Department because all the other positions have been left unfilled or the staff quit. We are currently seeking whether he has a private email server so we can LOCK. HIM. UP instead."

Edit: Sorry, but I’m pissed…more than usual.

Sadly, but not unexpectedly, NPR has been doing their usual “he said/she said,” “isn’t this all the normal oversight and wrangling that both sides do” routine all morning so far.

They are visibly soiling themselves, in real time. Nunes has to be as dirty as Trump to be going down this road.

What a cockroach!

In our case, the Republican party is being led by a loud leader, not a strong one.

ETA: I don’t see the entire governmental system being led by Trump. It’s what he wants, but he’s such a doofus, as are his collaborators, that he isn’t getting the job done.

NPR acquired a severe case of Gergens Disease a while back and is unlikely to recover. It is sad. But then, have you seen a Mounds or Almond Joy lately? they’re tiny.
