The generals are feeling their power in the Trump White House. That’s supposed to be a good thing?

Wonderful, that means Jared and Bannon are losing the influence they had back in March. Bannon next?? Fingers crossed.

Seven Days in August?

It is an improvement on Bannon, in the sense that eating moldy toast is better than starving to death.

Their firing the worst, craziest people there is, especially when the bad crazies are in really sensitive spots.

Here is hoping that Bannon and Stephen Miller are next.

Another one bites the dust.

Forgive me, but I must do it…

I don’t think it is a military coup. I think these 3 military men might be the only grown ups with integrity that help us. There certainly aren’t any GOP Statesmen in Congress to lead the way. (As much as Flake is positioning himself as one, he has to stop voting party line instead of writing op-eds and promoting a book.)

Just so long as we use constitutional methods to remove the clown from power. We’ve gone 228 years without military intervention in politics, and it’s no time to start now.

Times ain’t normal. There’s still limits on what is acceptable to restore things to order.

McMaster is obviously sensing that the Bannon Crew are chum in the water now.

Well well…

“General McMaster is confident that Ezra will make many further significant contributions to national security in another position in the administration.”

So he’s not fired fired? Just reassigned? No walk of shame like The Mooch? If Kelly and McMaster are cleaning up the NSC of the Flynn/Bannon freak show, that’s all to the good, but if ECW isn’t shitcanned then it (along with the tweets and batshit signing statement today) suggests Kelly’s remit still only goes so far.

Trump’s tried to be a good boy and turn over a new leaf before. It usually lasts a couple weeks tops.

The saving grace is none of them are active duty, [EDIT: McMaster is active duty, ht to old-prog and erik-t] which means they don’t actually have any guns under their immediate control. But there are precedents being set undermining civilian authority over the military when the head of the DEA challenges the president on police brutality and when the Joint Chiefs don’t recognize a presidential order on transgender rights.

Civilian authority over the military is sacred in the US. Trump is tearing it down. We need to be very, very careful here.

You put more faith than I do in military officers that willingly serve Trump.

Some woman from Huffpo is saying that Trump will still communicate with Trump, and she says he’ll be back. Says Mooch:

“I am now going to go dark. And then I will reemerge as me.”

Who the eff was he before?

Lt. Gen. McMaster is a serving officer.

The Breitbart crowd is already calling for Trump to dump McMaster, this is going to really get them in a tizzy.
