Also lost in the outrage unleashed by the Snowden revelations was a speech President Obama made before the National Defense University a few weeks prior, in which he argued for reining in some features of the surveillance program.
Also, some have argued that Snowden’s revelations have actually made it harder to rein in the program, since some of his conclusions wrt to domestic spying are not supported by the documents he released, and therefore making them easier to dismiss as hysterical.
