Discussion: NRSC Canceling Remaining Television Ad Time In Michigan Senate Race

Discussion for article #228522

“$2.9 million of which was her own money”

I guess when it comes to believing that elected offices can and should be purchasable, rich men and women aren’t so different after all.

Yeah, Land isn’t losing, so STOP SAYING IT. We’re pulling our resources because she’s winning so hard. You guys don’t even know. I’d explain it but you probably wouldn’t get it. Just watch as she wins. Don’t look at polls though, they’re biased. I swear, you guys, she’s gonna crush Peters cuz Obummer.

As we all know, we have our math but the GOP has THE math.

She still has a few SuperPACs helping her…but yeah, she’ll go down anyway. Teehee.

BTW, Peters latest ad is kind of endearing… Its been running lately quite a bit.

This race did not slip through the repubs fingers. Land is one of the worst candidates we have seen in a long time. Just putting up a woman is not going to mean a repub win. Repubs must think we here in Michigan are stupid. Land is a Koch sucker. She was against the auto loans and against women making the same as men. She has been hiding for months and won’t debate. I consider her a traitor to her gender like I do all women who vote repub.
Gary Peters will make an excellent Senator. Now if only we could get rid of Gov Synder. In the papers this morning they have him up 8 points over Dem Schaurer. That sucks condering all the bad that Synder and the RWNJs in Lansing have done to us.

Don’t fret…your figure of 8 points…I read that was what it was earlier in the year. As of the end of September they were only 2 percentage points apart. Its a lot closer than you might think.

I hope you are right about that. It was in this morning’s papers that Synder was up 8 poings.

Do you have a link? What paper? If its from the Detroit News I wouldn’t be surprised. They’ve always been in the bag for Snyder. Its more rightwing than the Detroit Free Press. And yeah, I found it in the Detroit News as expected…never mind.

If it was that close, why would the NRSC pull the money? I’d think
they’d pile on.

Ms. Land looks very fetching under that bus.

It’s not a retreat, it’s a strategic withdraw!

They’re pulling money out because Land is going to lose and she’s a horrible candidate that won’t even show her face to the press to answer any simple question about herself or her campaign. They can’t sell her to the public because she’s really that bad.

The governor’s race is close, the senate race is not.

To that point…I looked up Glendariff Group that does the polling for that Detroit News article which has Snyder up by an 8 point lead, that Downriver Dem might be referencing. They do live phone interviews. In 2012 they were 5.8% points off in favor of Republicans. They are run by Richard Czuba, who was a former Gov. Engler ® administration official. They were the worst in-state pollster that year too from what I gather, at least as pollsters approached election day. Worse than Mitchell Research and EPIC/MRA for what its worth.

Signed in just to say I always appreciate your cogent comments and especially when they’re about the state I was born and mostly raised in. Grand Rapids, as it happens, but that was a very, very long time ago.

That’s very nice of you to say…Well, don’t make yourself a stranger. GR is still a very welcoming place…for the most part, politics aside.

That’s funny, because I clicked on a link to the Washington Free Beacon that was posted at BJ a few days ago and noticed that the title of one of the articles claimed that Gary Peters refused to debate.

If the repubs are accusing you of doing something, etc.

Hey, Terri! Is that a bus I see in the parking lot?

Oh shoot … I was just getting into enjoying her Sharon Angle / Sarah Palin / Michele Bachmann / Virginia Foxx approach to political campaigning.

Gee, I wonder why the Republicans aren’t putting forth any female candidates for President.
