While getting both the House and Senate would be nice, Democrats only really need 1. Getting 1 allows for committees to do real investigations on a number of issues. The Senate would be great for judgeships but thatâs realistically about it. The filibuster and Trumpâs veto limit the effect otherwise other than optically.

We would need the senate to get an impeachment conviction. Even then we would need some republicans to vote to convict-and Iâm not sure who in the current crop can be convinced to vote country over party
There is no panic. No running for the doors. No rats fleeing the sinking ship. The Speaker of the House just admitted he will not seek reelection but it is no big deal. There is no blue wave coming. Republicans are not having trouble raising money. It all will work out fine. The NRCC Chairman has it all under control. No problem.

Shivers, you are already up to 20 who are retiring, four that have outright quit already and nine who are running for another office.
And thatâs just the HOUSE. I donât kno HOW many in the Senate are leaving other than the retirement of Hatch and Cochran.
The democrats have already flipped 36 state legislative seats and I donât know HOW many governorships are up for grabs.
I am not an electoral expert and the midterms are seven months off but all indications are that â for the GOP â November 6 is going to be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG fucking night of heavy drinking.
