Gosh, that’s a shame.
I am as shocked as you are.
When was the last time we had national coverage of some Republican on Republican action?
“I think it was a neat idea.”
Did you see Dr John passed? The music won’t be the same-we’ve lost a giant.
Remember back in the mid-late Eighties when Ollie North accidentally spilled the beans about declaring marshal law, suspending Congress, and setting up “camps” for demonstrators, in the event Reagan invaded Nicaragua? Good times. And it occurred to many of us back then that North was representative, the kind of super-patriots who were behind murdering Jack Kennedy.
No no no no no. He was a conduit you could hear all of Nawlins music through. Second line, R&B, everything. And a friend once called “Gumbo” a desert island disc. He has to be taken to the graveyard with mournful dirges, and the mourners have to come back dancing to his music. Rest in rockin’ peace, MR. Heaven just got an ass-kicking keys player.
The NRA: Yet another criminal enterprise.
Time for a good old fashioned duel with some cold dead hands.
Can you imagine being able to play like this?
I thought it was now established law that Republicans do not have to respond to subpoenas.
When you have to subpoena a (former) officer of your organization to get business records from their time in office.
The fun thing is that as an officer he had (and may still have) a fiduciary duty to the organization. So even if he skates on the graft he could be sued for helping to bring the NRA into disrepute.
So it will be pistols at dawn then.
Everything he did was tight and tasty like that. I wouldn’t give you a nickel for any musician who didn’t understand that it has to be emotionally effective, it has to get to you, or it isn’t good music. Seriously I’m sad and upset. I was a stupid punk kid when Gumbo came out but not so stupid that I couldn’t hear what was going on. Reverenced him ever since. Thank you, Mac Rebennack.
It’s a 401 c 4 social welfare organization.
