Discussion: NRA Issues Amazing Statement Admitting That Bringing AR-15s To Chipotle Is Dumb

Discussion for article #223407

Wow - now we have a baseline set for the NRA. And even these idiots can’t reach that low standard.

I can’t remember the NRA criticizing gun people ever. Makes you think a major backlash was brewing. Store owners complain to the local chamber, local chamber complains to state rep and so forth. Nobody wants a gaggle of rifle-draped yahoos standing around in their business. Maybe the right to make money is even more sacrosanct than the right to bear arms.

In denouncing the demonstrations, the NRA said that using guns "to draw attention to yourself in public not only defies common sense, it shows a lack of consideration and manners.

This sounds rather like a parent admonishing a child not to play with himself in public.

Maybe, indeed. The NRA’s dirty little secret?

Well yeah. Take a look at the yahoos in that picture. I’m guessing there might be one good brain cell among the 4 of them.

Wonder how the NRA will react when the *MGTB crowd show up at their HQ to protest?

Previous draft of NRA letter that got nixed:

“Dear gun nuts who we scared into buying scores of our products through grotesque lies, thinly veiled racism and generalized malcontent: now that we’ve fleeced you all for billions of dollars, please disregard all of that hyperbolic rhetoric we’ve been spouting for years and go vote republican quietly like the good little AM radio listeners that you are. Sincerely, the NRA.”

$10 says at least one of these Gomers will have a gun accident by the end of 2016.

Translation: “Knock it off, you morons…we’re trying to get to Gun Nation incrementally!”

Not sure which is funnier: That this even needed to be said, or that there will be many gun nuts upset at the NRA by wimping out like this and not understanding that the only way you can normalize scary behavior is by engaging in it as often as possible; completely against the will of anyone who disagrees.

It’d be like if gay rights advocates started having orgies in churches to let them see how awesome it is, and then having orgies in the parking lot after they get kicked out. Except…guns are a lot scarier than orgies, so they’d have to be armed too.

Funny, they are just now beginning to understand their membership? No, just a PR move due to bad National press.

“As a result of these hijinx, two popular fast food outlets have recently requested patrons to keep guns off the premises,” the unsigned statement said. “To state the obvious, that’s counterproductive for the gun owning community.”

Only if the gun owning community feels the need to conspicuously pack heat everywhere they go. I love having sex with my wife, but I don’t think a restaurant prohibiting us from doing it in their premises is “counterproductive” to me.

…guns…

So simple to operate even a toddler can kill with it.

The serious wackos were already accusing the NRA of having “gone soft” on 2A…they’ve moved to Gun Owners of America because to them the NRA is a pro-government tyranny-loving sellout stooge for the NWO and that Mooz-slime in the Whites House, derp derp derp…

NRA --will the NRA SYG against the monster you created?

That would be hilarious and well deserved, but as far as I can tell this open carry thing is considered pretty unwise by a pretty big percentage of the gun people themselves. They know it can backfire, especially the way the goofs in question were going about it.

This reads like an Onion article. “Boy, those gun people are f*cking nuts,” says NRA.
