Discussion: NRA CEO Emphasizes They Didn't Call To 'Ban' Or 'Confiscate' Bump Stocks

There were no gun laws in the colonies for the Boston Massacre, and the people who did the shooting were the British troops, so I guess he’s talking about the bombing at the Marathon.

Is he really suggesting that the laws against making bombs and blowing them up in a crowded public place are unnecessary because they didn’t stop the bombing?

Banks are robbed everyday, women are abused everyday, children are molested everyday.
What’s the point of these laws?

Hell, people are still murdered every day. We’ve learned that if a law won’t be 100% effective, we should demand that even discussing the possibility of regulation never ever ever happens.

How 'bout we ban the NRA, or at least Wayne LaPierre?

NRA: No BAN, No BAN. We were just blaming Obama and the immoral Hollywood.

If the NRA is so confident in their position, why do they ban the CDC and law enforcement from doing studies looking at patterns of gun ownership and usage in America? Why do they try to prevent pediatricians from speaking with their patients about the dangers of guns in the house? They know they don’t have the facts on their side…to call their position pseudoscience is to give it too much credit.

The question is why do they have the power to do this

Because even though their supporters are fewer, they’re more focused and passionate in their support than are people who favor commonsense gun control.

This is how utterly fscking rabid the NRA’s base is. Even the mildest statement of maybe a little more regulation for products specifically designed to get around prohibitions on full-automatic weapons, and the next day they have to walk it back to save their own skins.

Time for the Gun Owners of America to swoop in and eat the pinko, communist, libtard NRA’s lunch.

@southerndem I continue to hold that the weirdo young men who take their assault rifles to Quiznos or wherever are the biggest threat to the NRA, because they demonstrate just how abnormal it all is and force other businesses to take a stand.

Most NRA members favor background checks and other sensible policies.

It’s the NRA leadership that is rabid and unreasonable.

Because of lax gun laws in the suburbs and Wisconsin and Indiana—which is where those guns come from.

This is why we need a nationwide set of sensible gun safety laws.

I find it so ironic that a man who refused to bear arms for his country, Wayne LaPierre, a notorious draft dodger,is the authority on the “right to bear arms.” When presented with the opportunity, to defend his country, Wayne took a pass. He opted to stay home hiding under his bed. Based on his record of cowardice, I would suggest Wayne stop talking about guns and weapons. I believe in Wayne’s myopic world, guns make him feel macho and patriotic, something he didn’t get to experience during the Vietnam War. This is the face and voice of the NRA administration - draft dodger.

Yeah because once one area makes a law against guns, no one can get a gun from another place that doesn’t have restrictions and bring them into the restricted area.
